GL: How will it end? / How Should it End?

Thought we could have some fun speculating how we think GL is actually going to end in those final five minutes before the final fade out. And then because the end will probably not be quite what we want, I ask, then, how should it have ended?

-I think under the current stories...

-Alan makes a 160 after his surgery, having experienced an epiphany of sorts while under. He doesn't make amends to every single person in Sprignfield, but he apologizes to those he's hurt the most. He leaves town on a journey to make amends with people such as Hope, Alan-Michael, and others. Such a turn around would involve a scene with Alan and Ed discussing Hope, Alan and Lizzie talking about how he handled Tammy, and a scene with Phillip. He leaves Springfield behind knowing that Phillip is a man worthy to lead the family while he's gone, meanwhile he gives Alex a significant position at Spaulding, and hints that he's open running the company with her at his side. When Alan departs her office, Alex celebrates, but sadly she has no one to celebrate with. She calls up Nick, and learns that he and Susan are expecting and they plan to move back to Sprignfield. Alex is overjoyed.

-Beth and Phillip kiss and plan to give it one last try.

-Josh and Reva give into their feelings. Jeffrey sees the two kiss and decides to leave Springfield forever, knowing that Josh and Reva are happy together and not wanting to ruin Reva’s happiness after all his death put her through.

-Later, perhaps as a cliffhanger, after Josh leaves Cross Creek, Reva comes upon Jeffrey. (Jeffrey thought he’d say good bye to Collin)

-Lizzie is revealed to be expecting.

-Fletcher and Holly discuss Ben and how he left town. Fletcher tells Holly that he wants her to be in Meg's life again. Holly and Ed share a kiss after each reflects upon the difficult journey each has gone through.

-Shayne finds out Dinah's whereabouts, and leaves to go track her down, having realized that he should forgeive her for keeping him in the dark about shooting faux Edmund. Marina looks forward to the future, in perhaps someday meeting the right guy and being a father to Henry. However until that moment comes, she'll raise Henry on her own with a little help from Shayne.

-Sigh..(JvD would have been perfect for this.) either Peter Simon or Robert Newman turn to the camera and thank the viewers for watching, and recites the "No one goes that way alone..." epitaph, before joining everyone who is celebrating. Whoever would deliver the final words on GL would be standing on a hill overlooking a lighthouse on the seashore. When they depart, we the viewer are only left with a shot of a lighthouse, with the sunset behind it. The screen then fades to black.
