Same thing with me. If Engen was really the way they are reporting it, I'll be okay with Muhney.

A good guy? No, not so much. He had a good soul, but was always snarky and sarcastic. He was the character you love to hate. So I guess, in a way, he will be an okay Adam.

I always thought whenever they gave Engen a sarcastic or ironic line to recite, it just fell flat. Like in the scenes where he's telling Victor how he should send him back to prison or whatever. As I said before, his performance was so one-note to me. So flat, other than his good Midwestern boy personality, I wondered what people saw in him.

One of the FEW positive things about him and Vail was that even though they're pretty crappy actors, they had a natural chemistry when together. I wonder if Vail will have any spark with Muhney, but it's not likely I guess. Time to either get rid of her, or recast. :)

If Y&R wants to do a stunt for Emmy attention next year, blow some s-it up and kill off all the useless characters. :)

Sometimes it worked & sometimes it didn't.

His sarcasm worked with AH's Victoria & Nick but fell flat with Victor, Paul & Nikki & he really struggled with emotional scenes, kid couldn't cry to save his life.

   Hair-E!

Remember the scene in prison where Victor was supposed to be putting the fear of God into Adam, and Engen just sat there with an uncomfortable look on his face as if he was about to fill his pants with days of constipation and burst into laughter at the same time? I've never seen a Y&R actor look so awkward in my life!

THANK YOU! I can't say I really noticed that at the time. That scene stands out very well in my memory, and I definitely remember him covering his face with his hands. But I did not connect with how lame his reaction was.

See, in a scene like that, all I remember is Braeden. Braeden COMMANDS attention. And, watching it now, I see how much he gave Engen to work with...and how little Engen was able to accomplish with it.

This will be a good switch (Muhney) for the show, I think.

ETA: Maybe Engen's quitting really reflects his realization about how unsuited he was for this line of work.

I think he aspires to be a singer. Maybe that's a better direction for him. For me, it teaches a real lesson, too....

Yes, but one of the FEW people both actors had any chemistry with was each other. I've yet to find anyone else Vail shares chemistry with. They flirted with something between her and Daniel, and she had NO chemistry with Graz, and has none with Rikaart either. I'm not optimistic about her chances with Muhney.

Personally, I think Muhney would look hot with Michelle Stafford, even though she looks her age with Morrow.
