Members Efulton
Judith Bancroft is one of a long list of popular former AW actors who would have returned if the writers and producers understood the show's history.

Members Maxim
Every day for a year and a half? Which year was this? So are you saying there is an ACTUAL living creature RED swan in the show? Colour me shocked! Quack! Members Contessa Donatella
No, not alive, an art object. Like a sculpture but not one. Edited January 22 by Contessa Donatella info
Members Maxim
Now that sounds interesting! For real! Is it an ominous storyline in which an item is cursed... or something bad happens around it?
Members Mona Kane Croft
The Red Swan was a MacGuffin. In literature -- an object or device that serves as a trigger for the plot. Some soap opera MacGuffins have made for interesting storylines. Sadly, the Red Swan was not one of them. Poorly conceived and poorly written. Probably one of AW's worst major storylines EVER. Members Maxim
Nooooo... why does my luck always has to be sooo bad. I was just beginning to enjoy the show! Anyways - thank you for the clarification! I hope I "disagree" with you when I watch this storyline... And I hope I enjoy it. Members DRW50
She mentioned in her WLS interview how degrading the experience was. https://www.welovesoaps.net/2010/02/catching-up-with-judith-barcroft-part-1.html I didn't really mind the story. The worst I could say was I found it somewhat dull. Given how much P&G had let ATWT rot away in this time period I wonder if they would have been as upset if JFP had not eviscerated so much of the budget. Heartbreaking to hear this - I knew she had had cancer but didn't know her current status. I hope all the best for her.
Members Contessa Donatella
And, I would add, it was detested!!! Only if we mean that something bad happened to the fans of the show! But, in that case, YES.
Members watson71
The Red Swan was probably the first time that Donna Swajeski strayed from Harding Lemay’s bible. Rachel receives the Red Swan as a gift shortly after Mac’s death. The Red Swan was totally her storyline.
Members Maxim
Quite honestly I prefer a trainwreck to... dull. But thank you for trying to keep my spirits up. Please register in order to view this content You all will see my honest reaction when I get to this part. I just hope it's not Margaret DePriest level of cringe dialogue! Members watson71
Barcroft left AW in 1971 on her own- no one showed her the door. Then, Agnes Nixon wrote her a part on All My Children. No one made her take the dayplayer part of the pharmacist on AW in the late 80s. She “degraded” herself, no one at AW was to blame for that.
Members Maxim
Should I be worried about my mental health while watching this so-called SWAN? Please register in order to view this content
