Then why is she listed as co-head writer for 1980-1981 in practically every site I checked? Are all of them wrong? I am not saying you are wrong... I'm just shocked such level of misinformation has been spread from site to site. Thank you for telling me.

Ah someone hasn't been reading my commentaries! Mary is the answer you are looking for.

It was not a mistake.

Interesting seeing Tom Eplin. In hindsight, he retired after leaving ATWT in 2002. Was his retirement hs choice or was he blacklisted from the industry?

He's never done any AW retrospectives or interviews about his career.  Again, his choice or was he blacklisted?

Whatever happened, it looks like he saved his money or invested wisely.

He really should have been playing a new, different character when he went to ATWT

No, not really. There was this one time, in Toronto, at a fan event, where he was involved with a fan & she was underage but he didn't know that & she lied & said she was 21. It was a minor scandal but it came to nothing in the long run. I'm not aware of any reason why he would be blacklisted & in fact this is the first time I've heard anyone mention anything of the sort. I think it's just because he seemed to vanish.

My earliest memory of Another World is in 1977 and I remember so much from that point on. However, I have zero memory of Pat (Beverly Penberthy), John (Michael M Ryan) or Russ (David Bailey). I think it is so odd considering how important they were. When I saw the 25th anniversary episodes with Beverly and then later YouTube episodes I was so impressed with her.

Nothing against Bailey (RIP) but he bores me, so I'm not surprised you forgot him.

Ryan and Penberthy are definitely standouts, although the former seemed to be on the way out by that point.

There is something so compelling about Ryan. I think he's a real DILF before the term was used. If AW had been a bit sleazier seeing him get involved with one of Marianne's friends might have been interesting (if horribly traumatizing for the family - poor Aunt Liz would need oxygen).

Pat is a huge early memory for me. Also Alice & Mary, too. But, I kinda fall down on the men. Russ, I do remember. But, John, not so much. I don't really get into any man until Cass. Then, Carl, Michael, John, Vince. And, it's weird to me but I don't remember the twins. Or Joey & Angie. Of course I remember Ada & OG Rachel, although I do not remember the 2nd Rachel. Why I recall some & not others is puzzling to me.

Why couldn't you post a screencap?

A lot of my earliest memories are just of the freeze frame and therefore the moment of the highest drama, and I don't picture Pat in any of those situations. But watching eps that are available online, Pat was certainly familiar although John is not. Beverly Penberthy's voice strikes me as very warm and appealing.
