I have nothing to say, good or bad.

It's just... another soap hospital set.

Remember JFP's walk-and-talk hospital sets on AW? The fans revolted at the time - but really, it would work WONDERFULLY on GH. Like, it was made for that show. Why she took Bay City and tried to make it General Hospital... and then went to General Hospital and tried to turn it into Bay City (restaurants on boats, casinos, hotels) I'll never understand.

Well yeah, im gonna compare the two. lol.

I just dont think it looks cheap, and theres not much you can do to a hospital, IMHO. This set looks like something out of Greys, and IMHO thats a good thing.

Without a doubt.

I dispise Y&R's. Its like an old dirty cheap clinic. ATWT's set is just blahh. And B&Bs i couldnt tell you about. I also dont like OLTL's and idk why.

I love AMC's and Days' tho.

I loved that set. Say what you want about Jill, but she was the only one who gave a damn about AW's production values during its last years. AW still looked like an 80's soap until Jill came in and revamped a few things. Also, I loved the GL hospital set during her time there.

I did too. I understand why AW fans were pissed. Frankie was murdered. Michael was murdered. John slept with Felicia. Credits were ER-Lite. New hospital set and police station set at once was just salt on the wound.

But think how AMAZING that hospital set would have been at GH. It's baffling why she didn't try it.

Ehh, maybe it was because i was like 10 when AW went off the air so at the time didnt have a strong connection to the history - but i loved the ER style opening and the revamped hospital and cop sets.

also i never cared for frankie. i liked mcihael but didnt love him, and i enjoy john/felicia. of course this is all me looking back via reruns/youtube/the aw book/etc.. because again, i was like 8-10 watching AW and all i cared about was Amanda and her life. lol.

God, I can't believe AW kept that "You Take Me Away To Another World" theme and opening until 1996! Damn, even by 1989, that opening was sooooooooooo 80's. The ER knock-off credits might not have been my favourite opening ever, but those credits needed a serious revamp. It just shows the neglect that show was given that it had to keep an opening like the "You Take Me Away To Another World" one for so long and for that deep into the 90's.

That's cool. I'm just saying that overall, the mood on the web was "Why are you changin' my show?!" at the time. I kinda liked JOhn/Felicia too. (But I loved Michael and Frankie - especially Frankie). I'm just saying if you went to the message boards in the 90's, they weren't generally happy with the changes. So I didn't understand why JFP didn't incorporate them into a show where it made sense.

MSN TV: What are you most looking forward to with this new hub?

Jason Thompson: I'm really excited and I think it's a great set and brings good energy into an old hospital. It's not as claustrophobic. The old hub was one of the only sets that didn't move, so this is something

... more new and it's great. This one is bigger, we can play around more and cameras can follow us around and we don't have to stand around as much. I think it's just something new, even from the colors and the switch to HD. It's really some fresh air for the hospital.

What do you think it will mean to the viewers?

A great change. I think it's easy to get stagnant and along that same line for a while. This is a little bump in the road. I think it will be good.

You mentioned the move to HD, what do you think it means to the show?

I think it's going to be great, too. It's a great process and will look great and the crew is so well-trained and it will help put us over the top with the other soaps. I've always thought we have the best story lines and the best actors, and this will help raise the bar.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!

    • Thanks. I do wonder if Rose was meant to be more given the caliber of actress they hired. I remembered Sara and Peggy staying longer as they were still on when Soapnet started their repeats. I wonder if that was part of the reason they brought Jake's brother in.
    • Speculation about Missy Reeves' potential evolution on basic civil rights doesn’t change my opinion of her. My view is shaped entirely by her public social media presence—which I find unpalatable—and I have no interest in learning more beyond that. I simply liked Jennifer’s hair and dress. That’s as far as my admiration goes.

    • Cheryl was gone before Lemay came back but I agree with your thinking that he would rather a character from a family he introduced to the show than a family he did not originate.  I remember reading somewhere in the early 90's probably after DS left as writer, their was an either a writer or a producer who made a comment that their intent was bring the McKinnon family back to AW.  Would have made sense for the newer viewers from the 80's.  Much like Lemay's attempt to bring the Frames back from his writing in the 70's in his 1988 return
    • DePriest left in January 1988. According to the AWHP, Rose last appeared nearly a year before in February 1987 while both Sara and Peggy appeared as late as October 1987.
    • Annie was not brought in as an antagonist for Reva. Reva wasn’t even on the canvas when Annie first appeared in late 1994.
