I agree they shouldn't be getting married right now. Tired of Zach/Reese scenes. Recognize the Reese problems and the stereotypes just like everybody else. I still want soaps to try and write gay and lesbian storylines. That's all.

I thought Aiden trying to explain all that background was a bit much to take in.

I don't know if I dig Petey and Colby anymore. I almost want him with Randi now.

Erica being a soft touch, trying to be a supportive freind to Bianca was nice.

Still not digging Zach's reactions to Kendall.

Greenlee's being so sweet to Kendall. They're building up the Kenlee love just to smash my heart. <_<

Loved MCE's expression for Annie when thinking she'd gotten one over on Bitch Doctor. Boy Howdy Westmore can bring the weird.

If they want to sell a story about a lesbian wedding, which is what they continue to push to the press, why not just have Bianca and Reese show up for a few months for the wedding? Reese and Bianca would have had plenty of story, given the inevitable clashes between Reese and the Kane women. Or, if they had to do the story with Bianca having Zach's child, why not just focus on the fallout there, instead of killing Josh to give Kendall a heart (which didn't even have enough drama to last more than a week), or on Reese falling in love with Zach? For the time they've had Bianca, they've barely used her as anything other than a bystander for Zeese. I don't think they care about Bianca, because they don't want to write for a lesbian. It's easier for them to try to use Bianca in an attempt to make a new character, Reese, popular, to help push Zach further in the direction of Sonny Corinthos, and then hope people will love Tamara Braun as much as they do and will become fixated on her relationship with Zach.

I don't know if this story would have been told better with more time, because other stories which have actors with longer contracts, like David's return, also seem poorly paced and haven't done a good job of communicating motivations. I think this was a very bad mishmash of ideas from the start, stories which probably never would have worked.

I haven't seen indications yet that Pratt knows how to tell a story. Or, if he does know how, Frons isn't letting him tell them.

I agree with you. I just don't see good storytelling here. I really don't. Pratt is not telling a lesbian story at all, but this really does not bug me. I am not excited about whether Pratt or anyone else makes history with a lesbian story. I just want the story, and it's not happening.

    • Looking at those totals it seems most contract actors are on a 1 or 2 week average guarantee. I assume contracts are still operating on 13 week cycles so you would have to know the particular actors contract starting date to work out their guarantee. The question remains as to what actors listed as contract are actually recurring? Bryton ?
    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.
