"I know I have a complex personality, but very simple needs and I keep them that way."

Same here. Although I don't consider myself lonely (I have, after all, close family and select friends) I decided long ago to live alone, b/c I know I'd be hell to live with. (Just ask my parents, lol.) All I ask for in return are a place of my own (nothing fancy, mind you, just something that's mine) and a chance to make a living at something I can feel proud about.

And a silver fox coat would be nice, too. ;-)

Just another treat from saynotoursoap. I thought this was such a nice finale. The scenes with Justin and his baby daughter were especially moving - can you imagine any soap today having a scene like that with a father and child? He would barely make eye contact and this would be seen as a big statement.

It's always strange seeing Vivien without Iris. Never quite works.

I also liked the ending for Judith - her schemes failing, but she still has some dignity.

I barely reply to anything- I am a reader and have enjoyed reading everyones excitement over the shows we loved that are no longer with us.

Having been brought up with mostly CBS soaps- I found an admiration for Texas, Edge of Night, and Search For Tomorrow while AOL gave us some great consecutive episodes. I feel all three were left at points that us viewers wanted more.

I have read about Edge and Search not being readily available right now, but what I find odd is that nothing has been said about any tapes of Texas or where they are located.

Those of us that did follow on AOL watched the rough period of starting out and here it is 4 years later and I for one am waiting for the continuation.

I know everything can't be done at once- I am thoroughly enjoying the releases of As The World Turns and Guiding Light on dvd and the streaming episodes of As The World Turns (I stopped watching at the end of 2004) and having the opportunity to watch these is like gold.

I am just inquiring to all my other cancelled soap opera friends- Is there an interest to finish the run of Texas possibly streaming along with As The World Turns and Guiding Light?

CarlD2-

If you have any access to episodes after AOL left of and are on youtube I would greatly appreciate some links to clips or episodes. i have seen the last 4 epsiodes but as I am quoting Melroser-

I think the show had a rocky start but I remember becoming a huge fan of (then) Diane Thompson Neil (and now as Alexandra Neil) as Ruby. She made that show for me. I vaguely remember a story near the end of its run involving her, Harley Kozak, Randy Hamilton, and Mark Woods (?) in an "Indiana Jones" -style story in the caves. They were searching for something and the character of Joel had been hit over the head and left outside in the desert sun causing him to go blind? I absolutely loved that story! Does anyone have more information about that? More details on the story and was it shortly before its cancellation?

This storyline was just starting and I would really like to be able to see the rest of the series play out.

Thanks for the reply CarlD2!

    • Amanda Setton and Rena Sofer was once again really good in today's episode.  As a Lucky/Liz fan, I didn't like their scenes either.  And they are nowhere near a proposal because they haven't been given a real story.
    • I don't think Lulu is written that badly.  Lucky they do seem to have no real interest in. I wonder if this is another story they have decided to wrap up abruptly as it makes zero sense to have what would have clearly been serious conflict between Liz and Lucky just get shrugged off by her. Maybe the intense viewer negativity toward Kristina got through to them.
    • This is what kills me about the complaints that the show is moving too slow. I don't think any of the other soaps has revealed as much as BTG has in the same time frame. Not only are stories moving but it's rotating as well. Y&R has been teasing that Dumas character since February with no reveal in sight. B&B was one day for the majority of May with very limited storylines. GH had a strong final week of May but the storylines had been dragging for months prior to that. I appreciate that BTG doesn't focus so much on recapping and keeps the stories moving. I have anticipation about certain ones like Martin and Anita's secrets but I'm not worried about it because the writers have proven they will keep these stories moving at a strong pace.
    • John and Marlena's love story is over.

As I started watching in 1993, and they became my favourite couple because of storylines like The Affair, Maison Blanche, The Possession, Aremid, and The Secret Room - just five straight years of amazing stories.  The funny thing is, in all of those stories, John and Marlena were never truly together, but I was fine with that because I knew how much they loved each other - Deidre and Drake just had so much chemistry and made it so believable.   Deidre was fantastic today, especially in that last scene where Marlena told John it was okay for him to rest now.  I agree with @j swift, that having a body for Marlena, and everyone else, to say goodbye to was the right choice, as well as just having Marlena there alone as John dies.   Marlena: John, I love you so…. John: I love you too, Doc. Marlena: I need you to listen to me.  You have put up the bravest fight I have ever seen. The thing is I….I know you’re weary, I know you’re suffering…..If you need to go, it’s okay. I know that you’re worried me, about the children….You have given us all the love we will ever need. We will always have you in our memories. We will always hold you in our hearts. So…it’s okay if you rest now. You can rest now.   Bo and Hope are my second favourite couple, so for them to be part of this episode made it even more special.  I loved the inclusion of Zack - in the flashback and in the family scene at the Brady Pub.  John dies and Bo wakes up.  Two great love stories intertwining and showcased (loved the flashbacks!) in today's very emotional episode.     Great recap @Bright Eyes
    • Given the way both Lulu and Lucky are written I can guess.  Do Lulu and Lucky even speak?  Lol Liz is useful to prop one of Frank's pets when they are failing, I suppose. It's shame GH loves to do the opposite of what fans want.
    • Lol. I understand. For me, it's just John and Marlena are the couple that introduced me to DAYS and Young Me had such a crush on him since I saw his attractive self at Maison Blanche. And whether I regularly viewed or not, I always tried to stay checked in to how they were doing. Also Drake always was a cool man in interviews so I know today's episode is going to hit where it hurts.   I know I will have to watch eventually. Work, life, and internet connection are setbacks without me stalling. And I can say that I'm stalling somewhat. At least...like GH episodes on my system...I have some time before they get deleted, but I'm going to be a sobbing mess.

he’ll talk more as you continue your viewing  it’s such a jarring transition in ‘93 to Courtland Mead with his hammy sitcom delivery
    • Frank does not care about them and resents having to write for at least one of them.
    • I’m watching it tonight. I’ve been watching the new episodes simultaneously as I catch up in May

I had to see John’s send off in real time.
