Yeah, it's better than many of the main album tracks. I really think she should have done more work with Stargate and Sandy Vee on this album, and it's too bad their only track is a bonus track.

Selfish is nothing groundbreaking and could have been a Rihanna song, but it's the type of edgy commercial electro-pop that Britney can do well.

I find the rap part from Sabi really lame on that song.

It's kind of expected though. Britney's career is passed its peak, she's now an artist of the first decade of this century. She'll struggle to maintain that momentum in the second decade of her pop career.

Also, Cirus had some hype attached to it in its first week as her "comeback" album and she did a lot of promo for it. This album has been relatively low-key in comparison in terms of promotion and hype.

To be fair, her sales were also slipping from album to album, and Cirus was not all that successful in the long-run as it only scanned a little over a million copies, with most of that coming from its first week sales.

Hmm, that is a pretty tuneless song. When you think about the songs that made Britney a star, they were all really hummable, memorable tunes that little girls could sing effortlessly. This I listened to and would be hard pressed to repeat it back to you

also, her dancing skills have dropped considerably. They try to hide it with non stop cutting, but she isn't even half the dancer she used to be.

    • One of the dumbest situations (Lando) ever. What audience member is going to invest in a storyline with a recast they don't like and a triangle where one character is short-term? It bombed as it should have done. So much of JFP's tenure just reeks of desperation. I don't get how someone could produce SB (which did have flaws but was often brilliant) but make so many terrible mistakes at GL.   I still think JFP would have worked better as a director and music supervisor. Her music work at SB was top notch.

    • We see the same with GH, where Mark Teschner, the casting director, reportedly has less say since Frank Valentini took over. Some producers want to take over every aspect of their shows.  I think Lando may have been a CBS push.
    • No idea but she won Emmys & she was the Casting Director at the same time for both ATWT & GL. She hired Lisa Brown with no job for her. Then Marland made Brown his muse so he created both Iva & Nola for her. But, I think we know that Jill does what Jill wants.
    • I did notice a decline in the quality of the performers being cast once Betty R vacated/retired from her position. We would have been spared from the nightmares of some of the castings that dominated the show in the last decade or so of the soap. JFP was an example of someone, no matter the gender, who had no business being in the position they were in.
    • If Betty Rea was the casting director, why was so much of GL during JFP's reign cast by her? Walker, Deas, Crampton, Lando, etc. JFP takes credit for Dusay as well. What is the point of having a casting director, if you don't let her do her job? What happened when Rea left?
    • So much on here slips my mind but this is the first I remember hearing of Peterson's passing. Very sad. Nell was a thankless role, clearly set up for a cheating storyline with Frank, but Peterson did her best.  Betty Rea Rea was the casting director for the soap opera “Guiding Light” from 1970 to 1996 and simultaneously the casting director for “As the World Turns” from 1979 to 1983.
    • Sorry, just one more post on the Thorntons. How did Ruth and Edna feel about each other prior to Tad dating Dotty?
    • I can't remember exactly but I think it may be 1995 as Jake was trying to hide from a loan shark.
