Actually, MOT only aired in 1965 (1/4/65-11/5/65). It was the first American network daytime TV soap that was actually produced in Canada. It aired at 2pm EST immediately before 'The Doctors' which had premiered 10 months earlier. The focus of the series was on psychiatrist Robert Wallace and his family (wife Nancy, children Johnny & Sheila. Nancy's sister Lila, and Lila's daughter Diane). Of course, being a psychiatrist, Dr. Wallace pretty much treated and couseled every character on the show at some point. Dr. Wallace was played by Douglass Watson who would go on to play (and win 2 Emmys for) the role of Mac Cory on AW. The series also regularly went on location shoots for outdoor scenes (which was extremely rare on soaps at the time). Although the ratings weren't stellar, it was beating all of the ABC soaps (except GH) at the time. However, it was still the lowest rated soap on NBC (below 'The Doctors', 'Another World', 'Paradise Bay', and 'Morning Star'). Consequently, the series was cancelled and replaced by a soap that's probably familiar to one or two of you -- 'Days of our Lives'.
