Members Paul Raven
Robert Cenedella also took on the headwriting duties for Somerset when it premiered, but was replaced by Henry Slesar. Did he lose both headwriting jobs (AW,SOM) at the same time? He went on to write for Secret Storm,The Doctors,Guiding Light (before the Dobsons took over in 75). So he had 3 short lived stints between 73-
Members EricMontreal22
Oh I did read (I think in LaGuardia's book) that they decided he should focus on Somerset--one reason he was replaced at AW so he musta stayed there longer
Members SteveFrame
No I have heard about it, but do not own it. I used to own a lot of books on soaps and when I lived in an apartment several years ago I had to store all of them in boxes under furniture. One day while I was out my hot water heater busted and flooded my house. I lost all my books and mags. I saved bits and pieces of some mags but all my books were ruined beyond viewing. As to afterward. He did stay at Somerset until 71, and as Paul Raven said had 3 short stints until 1975. Then it seems he went back to acting as he has some Broadway and Off-Broadway credits in the 80's. Then I have found no record of him unless he is the same Robert Cenedella who is an artist that is found when you do a Google search. I have looked at 1 or 2 bios and could not tell if they are the same or not. Since he worked in radio, I am sure he is getting on up in age by now or may have even passed away. Members SFK
Eric, you should get that Soap Opera Book of Lists. I love mine, and the factoids are interesting. That's where I found out about John Conboy's proposed glamour soap Casino that never got off the ground, and how GL wanted to bring Zaslow back as an Alan recast before he suggested they resurrect Roger instead. Members dc11786
I believe he was also the final headwriter for "Return to Peyton Place". Harding Lemay talked about script writers in his book. He said the headwriter had to pay the scriptwriters out of their pay, which is why a lot of headwriters wrote the shows themselves.
