The promo says "Friday".

So I think there will be some big cliffhanger on Friday, and then the FOLLOWING WEEK will be the interesting fallout. This week will probably build unrelentingly to the Friday cliffhanger. That's how I'm speculating anyway.

The stuff leading to the accident.. the gala stuff.. I think will be this week. Then Friday we'll get the accident, maybe not knowing WHO was hurt .. the following week the fallout (or it begins).

Y/R has gotten suddenly better with cliffhangers. Let's see if they are good with the follow through (I"m still waiting for Skye!)

Someone just told me the last voice in the promo (other than Mr. Voice) is not Nikki, as I put in my transcript, but Amber. Can anyone tell? i really can't hear it that clearly, since the woman's voice is whispering. Certainly saying OMG! is far more Amber... but why would she be scared?

I think after the recent ratings dive, both Y&R and B&B are re-shooting and scrapping certain storylines that are unpopular to move things along. I also saw one really funny Y&R last week and wondered if it was Hogan's work.

reshooting and scrapping scare me to death, because the constant "resets" of stories and chaotic direction is one of (many) things that killed AMC.

Tweaking is one thing... but those Panicking Suits... they can kill a soap. I like Y/R (despite my complaints sometimes) and I would HATE to see it do what AMC did, and destroy itself.

Errol, so that IS Amber... wow... what the heck is she scared about? Does she find out ... oh my... Walter is at the Gala... does all this tie back to the stolen money? Was it Walter's? Was David sent to fetch it from Ji Min, who had decided to GO PUBLIC with *every freaking thing* including his own mob ties?

I have heard people bring up 'Out Of The Ashes' as a case for cause, and absolutely fair enough. After that visually impressive, but ultimately nothing event, caution is ok.

I am looking foward to this because I believe this is an entirely different kettle of fish. This pivotal event is actually a pivotal event, with far reaching ramifications. It is also an 'umbrella story', something that has been wished upon by Y&R fans. Not only that, but an umbrella story that encompasses the core of Y&R (Newmans, Jack, Paul etc).

Plus this has been built in character, rather than in plot. Rather than Clear Springs blowing up and 'conviniently' trapping characters together, this has taken months of careful construction to get to and therefore will mean more.

I can compare this to the appalling Fairground Disaster is Eastenders four years ago. Cheap looking dragon slide falls, traps a couple of veterans in the car lot cabin, Spencer and Ian break limbs and Den Watts is shamelessly pimped. Except for Ian and Jane meeting each other, nothing comes of it.

Finally, it appears this will also tie-up a few loose ends, as well as send the characters in a new direction. It is as if we will be entering a new era of the show. It has just taken 6 months rather than a few weeks to essentially re-tool the show.

We have been told for weeks that we need to prepare for a strong August and beyond by those involved in the show. I seriously hope we are not let down by this. If it is, it could actually do more damage to the show's credibilty by virtue of wasted opportunity. However, whilst I'm not a Sheffer cheerleader, I like some of what he did at Days (when his hands weren't tied, and it's obvious when they were and weren't) and MAB has shown she knows the show's characters and can create deep, interesting ones, so I have faith...

I know this is going to sound stupid...but these Y&R promos have me questioning...

"Genoa City rocked to its core"

"Sudden impact"

You don't think they're TEASING us with the car crash, do you? What if the car crash is an OUTCOME...not the event. What if they're talking about something like a meteor falling. I realize that is NOT Y&R...but I don't see how a car crash can "rock" a city to the core?

What am I missing?

This is where i disagree, after reading the spoilers. It was built in character, but there has been a sudden and I'd say extreme shift to plot. I"'m guessing this is from Hogan taking over this storyline from MAB. It seems to me it's suddenly going in a very different direction. I doubt when they signed RM they knew they'd kill her off very shortly. Certainly there was a way to build up to the big event in character, but when all the dust settles... I don't think that's what we will have. And if we don't have it, it does not bode well for Y/R under Sheffer.

If the spoilers I'm reading around the 'net are accurate, David will be the key here... being a regular killing machine, going after Heather, and others. I think tptb heard Nelson Branco's prayers and took one character he didn't like, and turned him into a killing machine taking out all the other characters Branco didn't like. LOL. Anyway, I expect Murderous David is the 'twist' MAB refered to, IF the spoilers I'm reading hold up, and they are not misleading.
