Members sheilaforever
Don't YOU mess with us. Yes, I mean YOU... *raising the Braeden finger* Haven't posted my Y&R dream team yet. THis is because I'm torn about the prime position: I'd give Janice Ferri Esser or Natalie Esser a try although my verdict on MAB is still out and I've loved and cherished every single second of the Alden years ... headwriters: Kay Alden, Janice Ferri Esser and David Marshall Grant assoc. hws: Natalie Minardi Slater, Trent Jones, John F. Smith and Maria Arena Bell scripts by: Frederick Johnson, Jim Houghton, Rex M. Best, Sara A. Bible and Molly Newman
Members brimike
I don't even know what that means. But it did make me laugh.
Members sudz4u
According to the "Writers/Directors" bio thread (and stuff I remember reading elsewhere), Frederick Johnson began his career at Y&R working closely with Bill Bell (as a Story Consultant, I believe). He wrote scripts before he left to become an Associate HW at AMC. I don't know if I'd put him with the scriptwriters or the Associate HWs but if the bios of the writers are accurate, he seems to be the only writer who's trained with both Bill Bell and Agnes Nixon. (How come HE isn't headwriting?) Since the mass firing at DAYS, I've been interested to see where he'll end up-- Y&R or AMC. He knows both shows (although it's been a long time since he was at Y&R) and either would be lucky to have him.
Members Sylph
to go brimike, verb to write a long and vehement post supporting an idea a lot of other people disagree with P. S. I hope Fred joins Y&R as soon as possible!
Members brimike
That's AWESOME!!! And I'll co-sign on Fred. I'd much rather see him there helping out old friend Hogan with history and Y&R technique then serving up what Chuck's deep-frying on AMC.
Members Sylph
Wow. Sort of messy. I like some suggestions, but mostly this is a mixed bag. BTW, it is: Sara A. Bibel!!! You of all people should know.
Members brimike
And you, of all people, should know Sorry, Sylph. I couldn't resist.
Members Sylph
I made a lot of typos recently... The rush, what can I say...
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Anyone else think Rex M. Best is coming back to Y&R? I still can't explain why Brad let him go, since Mulcahey described himself and Best as Brad's "lifers."
Members Sylph
Best was let go?
Members rain1
Brad didn't let him go. Rex's decision to leave was his alone.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Thanks rain1! Is he retiring from writing or just wanted to leave B&B? Any chance of him ever going back to Y&R?
Members rain1
Stranger things have happened, but the mismanagement behind-the-scenes at Y&R (Billy making his wife headwriter, protecting her at the expense of what's best for the show) makes it extremely difficult for people of integrity to work there. Members Sylph
So Maria has no intention of stepping down? Because she somehow seems bored with the job already, I can't explain why precisely.
Members rain1
The fact that they made Hogan Sheffer take the #2 position, effectively answering to someone who hasn't written anything in Daytime in approximately 20 years speaks volumes, woudln't you say?
