I actually liked Ava today. :o She showed that she felt bad for killing Grampa Shawn and a softer side of her. I also liked her scenes with Max. Speaking of Max, I can't get a read on him, on what he did to Nick. Was he helping Nick, afterall? How? Hmm....

Morgan was great today. She was so happy for Nick, while Chelsea was ho-hum about it.

And I actually liked the Sami/EJ dinner scenes too - them pretending "how well they know each other."

Ahh..I liked DAYS today....what's wrong with me!! LOL

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - even a broken clock is right twice a day. :P

In all seriousness, it was a pretty good episode. I haven't been a big supporter of the last few weeks, but I did enjoy this episode. EJ and Sami haven't felt like themselves since last year - but today, they did.

Still not loving this Ava story, but Tamara sells it well.

Today's episode was the best in several weeks. I loved EJ/Sami....very cute. It was good to see another side of Ava when she was crying about Shawn and then visited his grave and talked to Max. Nick even had some energy today. Good cliffhanger ending, too.

Nice to hear good things about today's show..After Sami and EJ being on the backburner these past few months, i'm actually ready for their storyline to start up..I'm also ready to try to like those characters again, after Hogan overexposed them and made them boring last year..And with Nicole coming back this week, it should be good..Also interesting to see Ava mix it up with Max..I have a feeling those two might end up being related, well thats what i'm hoping anyways..

I'm off to the gym, then i'll watch when i get back..

I think we may be seeing an overhaul of EJ's character. He's becoming much lighter and funnier and although still charming, not quite as perfectly poised. This was evident in him forgetting to pull out Sami's chair, ordering his drink without deferring to her...the old EJ with his perfect European manners would never have made those mistakes. As for Sami, I think we're getting some of the old Sami back and that makes me very happy. Hogan pretty much destroyed her over the last year. It's good to see her lying a little, manipulating people a little--as EJ said, that's what she does best!

Good episode. I was totally bored with last week - it was almost painful to watch - but I think it's picking up. Glad to see some humanity in Ava, even if we know it's fleeting. Is it just me or are the sets getting better? Everything looked so damn cozy.

I absolutely love Nicole..Ari rocked today..What an entrance....There were so many great moments..first Nicole wanting a re-fill on her martini right when she got it and asking for more vodka..Nicole flirting Daniel, great chemistry there....Nicole commenting on Chloe's face and her scars....Chelsea explaining the Nicole connection to Daniel and comparing her to a real housewife of Orange County..HILARIOUS....It was also wonderful seeing Nicole vs. Victor, those two are just explosive together..Such a great love/hate relationship...And i've always loved the Nicole and Kate rivalry..

I also enjoyed Kate and Chelsea's scenes up in the bedroom..Loved them gossiping about Nicole and Victor...very realistic...I definitely see Chelsea having a crush on Daniel, but i don't think Daniel will reciprocate the feelings..and i think Chelsea will end up losing Nick because of the crush..

Steve, Ava, and "Hope" was awesome..Love the dynamic going here..And TB is killing it with this role...Her comments to about Hope's not showing was great and i was glad that the writers mentioned that...

Finally Stax sucked as usual, i fast-forwarded all their scenes..They bore me to tears..Can we have something exciting happen with them at least??

Nobody's mentioned NuMickey here... I found myself too distracted by the (should be grey but isnt) brillo pad nestled on top of his head to concentrate on anything else that played out in his scenes. Still, he seems like a good enough actor if not slightly too young.

    • I like that there are a lot of local performers on this soap and I'm glad they've resisted so far on hiring too many soap performers.   Cady has been awkward on the show thus far and Jon seems to have polarizing as well. I say focus on the local talent and giving those people a job and exposure.. and leave the P & G soap opera performers in the past.

about it I think Jan is a fine supporting part for a solid daytime vet (probably someone from the P&G soaps), as opposed to someone from the production location who is clearly cheaper. Which seems to govern some casting. I get the rationale, but I would start going through the ATWT/GL, etc. rolodex myself.
    • I dont mind Jan. She's good in the minor capacity she is used.
    • tbqh I don't care about Jan, I don't care about Ashley and I think Jon Lindstrom as Joey is an acquired taste. Jon is a great actor but certain things are in his zone and then some are not. Some days I find Joey credible and compelling, but the stuff with him hanging around the Golden Corral, grumbling about Doug and bitching at Randy is not amazing. If he had material on par with what MVJ wrote for Ryan/Kevin on GH back in the day it'd be a different story. I do think he has real chemistry with Vanessa, which is in large part due to MVJ clearly molding that character (and hiring an appropriate actor) in the Lucy Coe vein when she reinvented Lucy in the '90s as well. But I am not here to spend 6+ months watching Jon glower a lot (which is what he's doing half the time to carry weak story) and make more vague dire pronouncements while Jen Jacob gets flustered and weepy over "Daddy" or whatever would come of that storyline. Putting them together sounds like a recipe for doom to me. But I may be in the minority on that.
    • I know this will never happen. But... Halle Berry as Dani Dupree(BTG). She would rock this role, it's in her wheelhouse.
    • When I see how bad the Ashley/Derek scenes are, I know there must be a larger purpose and Joey being her father is the thing that makes the most sense.  My take on it is that Ashley knows Joey is her father but doesn't know Joey. Maybe he was there when she was a child or just not around at all but I believe Jan when she says she didn't lie to her daughter about who her father was. Maybe she left him when she discovered his dangerous lifestyle.  I do think they could really jump start the character of Ashley if they hurry and do this. Jan is a great character and her scenes with Ashley have been helpful. This would further integrate Ashley into the canvas and give her something dramatic to do. With her working at the hospital along with Doug, it could lead to complications if she learns Doug is involved with her father. I just need is sooner rather than later because Derek is tanking her character. I need a distraction.
