You know what is pissing me off?

Reading posts saying I am ignoring certain posters.

I am annoyed having to wade though a shitload of posts that say that when there really is good arguments from both sides here. What the hell ever happened to respecting everyone

Judging from those poll numbers -- I believe they were originally posted by Casey and referred to in your post -- it looks like McCain retained his convention bounce and Obama returned to his post-convention levels. Not much happened with McCain, but it looks like Obama bounced back from whatever happened immediately after the GOP convention. Obama had popped up to around 48 or 49 after the Dem convention and then dropped back down during the GOP. McCain popped up to 46, 47 during the GOP convention. It looks like both of them have retained their post convention bounce now. They are fighting over a smaller pool of undecideds IMO.

I don't think all these groups are surveying the same group of people either. I think some must be polling registered voters and the others likely voters.

Yup, and I think in the polling (if you can trust any of it), likely voters is more of a key sampling than registered voters...

But I do believe that those polled don't always tell the truth. I agree with Greg... I think the polls don't really matter much.

Wow, I wasn't aware having a good education made someone elitist. Some logic that is.

I was referring Columbia University where he obtained his degree, not the country of Colombia.

 Brian reminds himself to read the posts slowly... :P

As for the elitist thing... It IS elitist because you are suggesting his education is more valuable and worthy than hers. "Only the RIGHT college, you see... Not that silly little place Palin went to..."

Let's be honest... there is a bit of elitist in some supporters of Barack Obama. Heather Mallick anyone?

And then there's McCain supporter Lynn Forester de Rothschild, worth about $600 million dollars along with her husband.

Ah yes........real "Salt Of The Earth" folk there. Out there in the fields........in Europe........ordering her workers to work harder.

I guess when the world financial community collapses she can get a job at White Castle. :)

I guess I should already know that if Obama has any elitist supporters then it's a reflection on him.

That's really important, Redd... I'm sure that specialization will come in handy when Columbia begins threatening us with their nukes...

Speaking of outright lies...

He really was linked to the Keating Five. He wasn't found guilty of anything though. He says it is one of those things that ended up being a kind of defining moment for him. It's what convinced him to advocate so heavily for campaign finance reform. I guess it's a good and a bad.

All the polls are within the margin of error regardless. I think there are a lot of problems with polls this year.

Now now, I suspect there is a whole lot of elitism going on on both sides -- Cindy McCain isn't common folk.  You know, I'd be a great owner of a beer company though.

You know, being elitist really doesn't have anything to do with money.

While those on the right often hurl the "elitist" word around when describing Obama, his Hollywood supporters, etc., do you feel, Jess, that Palin could be considered elitist in any way?

Obama Laments Debt, But Promises Billions for Anti-Poverty Program

Barack Obama, who lamented Friday that “we have not managed our federal budget with any kind of discipline,” is nonetheless promising to spend $50 billion on a United Nations anti-poverty program that critics say will drive up American debt.

--------------------

Is this a good idea? I have an idea what my friends on the right think about all this... but what about my friends on the left? Roman, Wales, etc. -- what do ya'll think about Barack's promise to spend this $50 billion of American money?

Well, lets' see.

Thanks for putting me on the left, even though I have never said where my ideology stands.

Let's see.......$50 billion dollars to help poor people.......while, under the Bush Admin., Iraq has $80 billion dollars of our money in their banks while we currently have hit the financial crisis.

And gas is still through the roof while Big Oil makes out with billions and the CEOs of the companies we all just bailed out made off like bandits.

You're right, Wost.

We should not spend that money on poor people.

Thanks because I may offer off the wall opinions but I don't knowingly spread lies. I guess it's easier for someone to make accusations than it is to admit being wrong.

That is the hardest thing to do for many people. It makes them seem like they don't know what they're talking about.....

Or they're FOS.

Is Palin at the top of the ticket? Personally I think Palin is a gun-toting hick, but that has nothing to do with whether or not she can be vp. By the way, what is an elite?
