It's ALWAYS about lower taxes. Bush lowers taxes, the new Republican will want to lower them further, and the next further, etc. They're never okay.

Not when Democrats take office in between Republicans. Remember Clinton?

I'd guess McCain doesn't think kindergarteners need to know all about sex... Can you blame him?

I don't know what to think one way or the other. All I keep hearing are people telling us what he thinks instead of actually providing proof.

Yes.

Wasn't he the president who left us with a $230 billion surplus?

Okay, now this is where the community and school board members step in, working with local and state agencies, like local law enforcement.

Exactly! Thanks Brian.

What if there isn't anybody who ever raises them? McCain will want to lower them from what Bush did. And if a Republican takes over after McCain, he/she will want to as well.

Where do you think he got all of that surplus? Taxes...

Remember the 2001 recession?

Yes I do.

Wasn't GWB is office then?

Where else would a surplus come from?

I'm pretty sure people have forgotten about 2001 after what has been this year and last...

In a perfect world.

Yes I do.

Yes George W Bush caused a recession in 2 months....

Where else would a surplus come from?

You made the comment that Republicans always want lower taxes....I said they had to after Clinton...Roman brought up the surplus..proving my point about his high tax rate.

The surplus that you are both fond of, had to be sent back as refunds to the tax payers to save the economy in 2001. I guess we will all get refunds back after Obama too...he will collect even more than Clinton did.

I'm pretty sure people have forgotten about 2001 after what has been this year and last...

Well then this year and last should be even easier to forget about because we haven't been in a recession.

Clinton's Vision and Accomplishments - Newer Information

Economic Leadership and a Stronger Economy

Under President Clinton's leadership, almost 6 million new jobs were created in the first two years of his Administration -- an average of 250,000 new jobs every month.

In 1994, the economy had the lowest combination of unemployment and inflation in 25 years.

As part of the 1993 Economic Plan, President Clinton cut taxes on 15 million low-income families and made tax cuts available to 90 percent of small businesses, while raising taxes on just 1.2 percent of the wealthiest taxpayers.

President Clinton signed into law the largest deficit reduction plan in history, resulting in over $600 billion in deficit reduction. The deficit is going down for 3 years in a row for the first time since Harry Truman was president.

Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Barney Frank admitted a lengthy relationship with a male hooker who ran a bisexual prostitution service out of Frank's apartment.

Amazingly, this guy is STILL in Congress. And don't get me started on John Edwards... what a sleaze. But I'll hand it to the Democrats... it isn't always about sex...

William Jefferson (D-La.) is charged with 16 counts, including bribery. The indictment said that at one point, Jefferson drove in his Lincoln Town Car through the streets of Arlington with $100,000 in marked FBI bills meant for a top Nigerian official whose assistance Jefferson needed for a business venture. The lawmaker allegedly stowed $90,000 in his home freezer, wrapped in aluminum foil and concealed inside frozen-food containers.

I'm wondering how 2001 was worse than what we're in now...

I'm wondering how 2001 was worse than what we're in now...

Our GDP was negative for 3 straight quarters and unemployment was higher by far than it is now.

Our economy is stronger now than it was then...and the current economy is faced with a mortgage crisis, outrageous oil prices, and a war...

Also, voters aren't going to go to the polls remembering that Clinton may or may not have contributed to the 2001 problem. They're going knowing that we've had GWB for 7 years.
