September 14, 200817 yr Member Okay. Gotcha. Casey may be right... You are not tolerant of opposing viewpoints. You fail routinely to respond to any points presented in any reasonable manner, making it totally pointless discussing these things with you. It's actually fun when people respond with counterpoints, etc. Wales is awesome to chat with... I've had a nice time with Jess, too. And, Roman, you get really pissy when people disagree. This certainly isn't fun anymore... You seem to want the board to be all about your personal ideology and prefer that any opposing points of view sort of fade away. That isn't a problem for me... Good luck... Thanks.

September 14, 200817 yr Member That's what happens when your the one getting all the buzz. I bet Obama is glad Palin took that spot away from him. Joe needs to expose her in the deabtes without making himself look bad because the FOX peeps are ready to pounce and blame him for being mean to her.

No one can cram what you need to know about foreign policy into your head in three weeks. Fox News? No matter. IMO, the only ones on there halway doing their job are Brit Hume & Chris Wallace.

September 14, 200817 yr Member GOP strategiest: McCain will pay for all his lying John Aravosis (DC) Harsh words from a Republican strategist in a NYT article about - you guessed it - McCain''s now-serial lying. "The last month, for sure, I think the predominance of liberty taken with truth and the facts has been more McCain than Obama," said Don Sipple, a Republican advertising strategist.... Mr. Sipple, the Republican strategist, voiced concern that Mr. McCain''s approach could backfire. "Any campaign that is taking liberty with the truth and does it in a serial manner will end up paying for it in the end," he said. "But it''s very unbecoming to a political figure like John McCain whose flag was planted long ago in ground that was about ''straight talk'' and integrity."

September 14, 200817 yr Administrator If someone annoys you, just don't say anything! Just discuss the issues! I'm so sick of people reporting post in this thread. Just respect each other's opinions. It can't be that hard, can it???? Come on now. You all are grown ups.

Colour me shocked! :in disbelief:
September 14, 200817 yr Member Over five-day period, Fox News provided far more campaign stump time to Republicans than to Democrats You know, FOX must be doing something right. They have better ratings than MSNBC and former giant, CNN combined. Any thoughts on that?
September 14, 200817 yr Member And here I thought this was a great thread where no matter how different the opinions, people respected each other... Colour me shocked! :in disbelief:  I'm sorry to laugh. I really believe that once this was exactly that type of thread IMO. Anyway, back on topic. I think venturing into the gray areas of the truth is accepted in politics. I think the reason Sipple and even Rove have weighed in on McCain is that he has gone beyond plausible deniability. It's like he says things that he knows aren't true, knows people know it isn't true, has been pointed out as not being true and doesn't care. I also think Gov. Palin's free ride is for the most part over. I don't think she is going to be the center of attention anymore and I also think she is going to get called every time she says those misleading lines. I did not go all the way through the thread. There is only so much I can take. The NYT story was very good. I'm sure since it did include critical material on Gov. Palin, it will be called unfair. What was interesting is that it pointed out that her yelling unfair and playing victim is nothing new. I thought it was informative. If anyone gets a chance, also watch the CNN profiles on the two VP candidates. Both are well done and balanced. Edited September 15, 200817 yr by Jess
September 15, 200817 yr Member I usually like Roland Martin, but I think his special was a little too much. Age is a completely legitimate issue, IMO. It's a whole other story from gender and race. I think it completely ignored the theories on Reagan's health during his last few years. Edited September 15, 200817 yr by bandbfan
