Casey, my quote about Jesus and Pontius Pilate, I just think its a really cool quote from an actress in one of my favorite baseball movies. If you or anyone else find it offensive, I will take it out. But I believe that Obama has rallied people together for a better cause and brought people together as a community. This is the first time since 1992 that I have felt so passionate about my candidate.

Its up to you. I cant tell you to take something out of your signature. ..BTW Susan got the quote from a member of the House of Representatives. A dem in support of Obama.

I just find it to be a little tacky and sacreligious to deify a politician by comparing him to the son of God...just my opinion though. It doesn't offend me, just makes me shake my head..

BTW, what are McCain's stances on education reform?

I was reading it then I saw he wanted vouchers which I don't support and all the credits he proposes for lower income children are useless if they can't afford computers or the internet. Since those are sticking points for me there's nothing to debate.

Public schools won't get addressed if people have vouchers to send their kids elsewhere but realistically the vouchers probably won't cover the costs of the schools to which they'd most likely want to send their children and let's not talk transportation.

Exactly, she is not there solely for experience. And yes, she does have more than Obama..(the top of the Democratic) and no, she doesn't have as much as McCain (the top of the Republican ticket).

And yes, the VP does not have to have as much experience as the Presidential nominee...History will back me up on that. Obama/Biden is a very rare exception to the rule. Please let me know another time in history that the Presidential nominee has had less experience than his VP.

Dan Qualye.

Harry Truman.

Geraldine Ferraro.

Jack Kemp.

There are 4 right off the bat.

So basically "more of the same" is what is causing the US to suck. Time for change Casey, exception to the rule is a wonderful synonym for change. We need it. You know it. GoBama!!

You're welcome to take that gamble and vote for an inexperienced leader.

Those are all VP's. I was asking for a Presidential nominee that was less experienced than his VP.

GoBama. Nice post Jay.

You know, as far as the dribble you were initially responding to: As far as experience and VPs: George H.W. Bush had more experience than Ronald Reagan, Walter Mondale had more experience than Jimmy Carter, Dick Cheney had more experience than George W. Bush. Lyndon Johnson had more experience than John F. Kennedy. Many leaders are not afraid to select a candidate who is qualified. Most think that is a good quality, hiring qualified people to work for them.

I have to disagree. Carter and Bush were both Governors..they had executive experience.

Johnson did have more experience than Kennedy, I agree with you there, but look at how that turned out..I see a lot of similarities between Obama/Biden and Kennedy/Johnson.

Kennedy was the first ever Catholic to become president. In those days that was as ground-breaking as Obama being African-American.

Reagan was a Governor as well. Executive experience has long been thought to be more of a qualifier than the experience of a legislator. However, George HW Bush did run the CIA, although not as wide of scale as governing California.

So why should McCain be POTUS? He's never been a Governor.

Did I say you have to be a governor?

Tishy,

The interpretation of the Bible and religious principles tend to be highly subjective period. I love reading the Bible because it has a lot of beautiful passages. Unless I'm missing the boat completely then Jesus wants us to be like Him and He loved the poor and downtrodden. If we were to label Jesus using today's terminology then He would be considered a community organizer among other things. You don't elevate a person in status by saying he tried to do the works of Jesus since that it is what Jesus commanded Hid disciples to do....His works. Saying Jesus was a community organizer is not the same thing as saying a man or a woman is Jesus (which I would consider offensive as in the references to Michael Jordan as black Jesus....especially since no sport or athleticism compares to the work of Jesus, as far as I'm concerned). The other thing I find more ridiculous than offensive is saying that someone has more money than God since I don't consider God materialistic nor do I see where God needs any money. I get the point but it's still ridiculous to me.

And on my soap box, when the religious right goes out and starts seriously integrating their churches then I might pay attention to some of what they have to say.

One minute you say being agovernor puts Palin over Obama, due to her experience. Now you are saying you don't have to BE a Governor in order to be POTUS.

Whatever.

Being a Governor does put Palin over Obama IMO. But you know as well as I do that you dont have to have been a Governor to be president..

Report: Aides Incorrectly Claimed Palin Traveled Into Iraq

Which means they lied.

I've always heard them say she went to Kuwait.
