Barack Obama Elected President!

And the Repubs could care less how they win the election. They aren't going to win on the issues, so if they can get enough "swing" votes from uneducated voters that think Obama is a muslim, they'll take it. It's nothing that they should be proud of.

Hillary Clinton did the same thing to Obama.

I'm not sure if Palin's reason for nomination has been lost somehow, but I dont believe McCain picked her to be an expert on foreign policy. I think that may have been Obama's reasoning behind his pick of Biden.

McCain is banking on his own experience for matters of the world. Palin's greatest use is going to be implementing her reform credentials in Washington.

I think that we have already established, on this very thread, that her "reform credentials" are nothing but a smoke and mirror parlor trick. That and a good sound bite that the MSM have latched onto.

If you're still unclear about it, then please read back through this thread and educate yourself.

Now what has constituted the tone you've taken with me? Educate myself?

I haven't seen any establishment of her being "smoke and mirrors". I've seen the numbers of the Alaskan Budget. She turned a deficit into a surplus by reforming, slashing waste, and revamping their budget in less than two years. Who's to say that she cant do the same in Washington? She has more reform credentials than Obama from what I have read about Obama's accomplishments. Can anyone cite an example of Obama as a reformer?

Casey, please. No one is taking a "tone" with you. I was merely informing you that it's already been established that she is anything but a "reform" candidate. FACT: She left Wasilla with a deficit. FACT: She was all for the bridge until voter sentiment turned against it. FACT: She asked for over $20 mil in earmarks from the Fed. FACT: She billed the taxpayers for her travel, even when staying in her own home.

Need I go on? How is this "reform". Please, I'd love to hear your rebuttal.

You know, I think Obama needs to just let the Palin thing pass. Let her continue to speak for herself. I am glad that the View women took McCain to task for his misleading ads. It is a really a shame that a morning talk show holds candidates more accountable for their conduct that the mainstream media.

I don't mind Glenn Beck pimping Palin. His stuff is clearly labeled opinion. I do get upset with the apologist in the mainstream media. The Bush Doctrine is important. It pretty much says we will launch pre-emptive attacks, something American has never done in its history prior to Iraq. I don't care if she knows what the phrase is. I do care that once she did know, she did not give a very adequate answer.

Great DNC talking points...all misleading...

The request for earmarks was part of the Bridge to Nowhere. She did think it to be a good idea initially (bring in revenue for Alaska), but then realized the cost and turned the project down. Requesting earmarks and getting them are not the same thing.

All public official travel is funded by taxes..Sarah Palin is by no means alone in that respect.

She did not leave Wasilla with a deficit, she left the town with a higher debt. There is a difference. She also increased revenue for the city which matched and surpassed the debt.

I've rebutted..now can you cite an example of Obama or Biden as a reformer??

I never thought I would hear "Bush-propping" from an Obama supporter! You may not agree with the Bush Doctrine, but I am happy to hear your opinion supporting its importance.

So I guess it will be hard to stereotype Palin as a Bush clone now that she couldn't recite his doctrine...

But then people will say she's been under a rock/glacier (since she's from Alaska) and that she doesn't know enough about national politics. Kind of double-edged either way you go.

Great RNC talking points. BUT...if she were a "reformer", why would she accept the travel perks, the earmarks, etc. Wouldn't she have "reformed" that process? I don't get it.

And Obama/Biden are running on a platform of CHANGE. There's a difference. And it's pretty obvious what they are proposing to change. I've posted quite a bit here myself on that very subject. They have presented it very nicely on BarackObama.com if you have any questions.

The "reform" hat is claimed by your candidates - not mine.

Reform - To improve by alteration, correction of error or removal of defects; put into a better form or condition.

Change - To cause to be different; to give a completely different form or appearance to; transform.

She didn't accept the earmarks for the Bridge... Did Obama turn down tax payer funded travel? I haven't heard that. If he did, then I could understand why it would be an issue for Palin. I know in one instance of travel she sold the state's jet. That cut out the pilot and crews salary, not to mention the fuel costs. Sounds pretty reformative to me...

Ok. Point taken. Has Obama accomplished any thing in the Senate to prove a record of "change"?
