Take a look at what a liar this woman is. She might be fooling some American's but I see right past her, as do many others. Check it out.

I guess her wording was misleading. She should have said "I put it up for sale on Ebay", rather than "I sold it on Ebay".

Kind of reminds me of the wording in the Obama talking point of "McCain voting "with" Bush". You guys adamently defended him on that, so I guess I will do the same for Palin.

If Palin's wording being misleading makes her a liar. Does that make Obama a one too?

Okay, Roman.. explain to me where my analysis is wrong on the issue...

When one disagrees with someone, that does not mean the other person is wrong.

You see it one way and I see it a different way. Period.

Hey Roman, could you let me know why you think McCain will not curb spending? You said you had compared his plan to Obama's.

Just curious as to how Obama will curb spending better.

Just in case anyone doesn't know, I like to call them the #1 ranked GA Bulldogs! :D

IA with you wholeheartedly. Ford's management and leadership has lead to their decline. I do give them credit in that gas prices have hurt them as well.

Roman, are you suggesting that government should become involved in the day to day decisions that faces businesses? Or do you just believe that they should not be allowed tax breaks?

Let me say this so that everyone in the cheap seats can hear me.

I have never said I had anything against any compnay making a damn profit........I am saying that you don't take the same profit and huge tax breaks and ship job overseas, screwing the American workers who helped build your company in the first [!@#$%^&*] place. Like BO has said, he will reward huge taxbreaks for companies who invest in the American workforce, and not do what Charter Communications did.......close the branch office here in St. Louis and ship the office out of the country. Do you know where I now have to call if something is wrong with my cable?

The [!@#$%^&*] Phillipines!

Ok? Does that clear it up for you? I really hope so. :D

Like BO has said, he will reward huge taxbreaks for companies who invest in the American workforce.

Actually I am more confused than ever! Obama has stated several times (and on his website) that he will role back the Bush tax breaks for corporations.

Is he just going to give tax breaks to companies that come back, or all businesses that do business here in the USA?

I know it's not the latter because how can you claim to increase taxes on business(wealthy) unless they do business here.

So, I guess he will give tax breaks to businesses that return to the US. I wonder then how long will it be before they begin to be taxed on the same level as the businesses that chose never to leave in the first place?

And when have these very same people start giving a damn about the wroking people even when their taxes were lowered 7 years ago? They have had more tax return dollars put in their pockets, and they are STILL laying off and outsourcing jobs. But now working people are supposed to care that they will have to receive higher taxes after screwing us all these years?

once again, I don't feel sorry for them.

So Warren Buffet, who is worth $56 biliion dollars, should pay the exact same amount of taxes as someone working 3 jobs and is being taxed to death? That is what you are saying?

Waren Buffet is more than happy to pay his fair share. He has stated that his personal assisant pays more taxes than he does and that it's a crime or should be!

We are not in a recesion. The last recesion that we actually went through was in 2001.

I am a middle class working man small business owner that would be tax to high heaven under Barack Obama. So as a non-rich, non-arrogant, middle class citizen I will be voting for McCain-Palin!

These type of comments and how they are applauded on this board have made me realize that some in this country have just lost site of common courtesy and civility.

We ARE in a recession! You WILL NOT be taxed to high heaven. You will be taxed little to none than what you are this time, unless you make more than $250,000 if married or $200,000 if single.

Yeah that is such BS! Everyone knows being tortured for your country for 5 years and representing your state for 30 years in Congress is so self serving!

A person does NOT have to be a vet to serve as President.

I think it just serves as a calming effect to sit back and read these posts. I find them very entertaining and amusing. Especially the ones that spew out cuss words and opinions of Palin being pathetic...so on..seems like fear to me. When you lose logic in arguments and let emotions control your message, something has gone amiss.

If the majority of posters on this board represent how Obama supporters carry themselves for the next two months, I have no doubt who will come out victorious in this election.

He was speaking figuratively about his wounds from republicans when he crossed party lines on several occasions. That is why he mentioned Obama. It makes more sense if you listen to the entirety of the context in which its used instead of thinking of the next clever thing to say. Maybe I am just different, but I actually listened to the message put out by the democrats last week and applauded several of the key points. Most here do not have the decency to even listen to the other side. It makes for a hard debate when you turn a deaf ear to your opponent.

McCain and Palin are filled with lies and untruths and both gave absolutely horrible speeches.

Basically that we will not raise taxes..

Yeah right!!??! Remember "Read My Lips No New Taxes"???

I think you are of the mind that Obama will not increase taxes on you. He will increase taxes on the country as a whole.

McCain has pledged to raise taxes on no one.

Obama/Biden WILL NOT increases taxes on the country as a whole. That's a damned lie. Obviously you did NOT listen to Barack Obama's speech.

Great! Taxes on businesses SHOULD be raised when you make over $250,000 a year.

That's good news!

True Roman! B)

No, Casey. The outlook says you don't care about anyone who is struggling to make it in this country. You care only about the wealthy.

And, produce more jobs? If these same employers that you push so hard gave a damn in the first place, why have so many jobs been outsorced by these very same people? I'm supposed to care about CEOs getting GIGANTIC stock option benifits and HUGE salaries while shutting down plants and factories and shipping those people's jobs out of the country?

I'm sorry. I'll remember that in the future.

Exactly Roman! :D

I found the answer to my question on Obama's website.

Reward Companies that Support American Workers: Barack Obama introduced the Patriot Employer Act of 2007 with Senators Richard Durbin (D-IL) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) to reward companies that create good jobs with good benefits for American workers. The legislation would provide a tax credit to companies that maintain or increase the number of full-time workers in America relative to those outside the US; maintain their corporate headquarters in America if it has ever been in America; pay decent wages; prepare workers for retirement; provide health insurance; and support employees who serve in the military.

I am still left with more questions. I guess Obama's fiscal policies are more complex than I will ever begin to realize.

I am just not understanding how Obama will tax corporations, the weathly, and windfall profits on one hand and then give rebates on the other. Which will outweigh the other? Where are the specific numbers?

What I like about McCain's plan is that it is much simpiler and easier to understand. He will not increase taxes on business.

Yes he did. His surpluses came from very high taxes on businesses that also lead to the last serious economic trouble.

The mortgage crisis has caused many to see decreases in property value. I urge everyone that is mad about the housing market to do a little research on which party pushed for relaxed guidelines for obtaining mortgages.

I know Clinton's policies drastically changed the face of Silicon Valley in CA. He wasn't shy in taxing their dot.com success...do death...in many cases.

The economy did improve under Clinton...unfortunately it was very short-lived. I would have loved it too...if it lasted longer..That is generally what will happen if the companies that provide jobs hold the majority of the tax burden.

That's a lie as well. Those taxes on businesses and the rich shall be put back on by Obama/Biden! This record breaking deficit of W & Dick's will greatly improve with Obama/Biden.

The mortgage crisis was caused by W/Dick's policies.

The improved economy under Bill Clinton was NOT short-lived at all. It lasted 8 damned years. W & Dick's Iraq war and deal with big oil for high gas and oil prices.

Sure I guess that is one way to look at it. I look to myself for success instead of waiting for the government to lend a hand. Hoping that others do the same does not make me side with only the wealthy. My side is against big government.

I guess Obama has a plan to stick his nose into the private affairs of companies and how their CEO's are paid as well.

I can tell you one thing. Taxing them more is not going to bring them back or keep less from leaving.

CEO's should NOT be allowed to be paid as much as many are, especially at the expense of consumers and their employees. Tax rebates for those countries that do NOT move jobs to foreign soil will help jobs stay in the US and even bring some jobs back to the US.

I just had CNN on and Palin was speaking at a GOP rally in Michigan and her speech was the exact same one she spouted off the other night at the convention....

Like word for word....

This woman cannot even speak for herself. But the GOP is probably smart for that since all the info that has come out about her being racist and a bitch.

LOL. Are you serious? McCain will not raise taxes on ANYONE? That's bull, and anyone would be dumb to believe that.

Great post. Short and full of the truth! :D

We ARE in a recession! You WILL NOT be taxed to high heaven. You will be taxed little to none than what you are this time, unless you make more than $250,000 if married or $200,000 if single.

Actually, we aren't. (in a recession)

What if you happen to own a business that has an income of more than $250,000? Obama's plan does not take into account that you might employ others and that you aren't actually able to use that income on only yourself. Many reinvest their income in their business and use it to pay employees..etc..

A person does NOT have to be a vet to serve as President.

That comment was in reference to your comment about McCain.."The manure's really gotten deep now when McCain said "I work for you"....IA a president does not have to be a vet.

McCain and Palin are filled with lies and untruths and both gave absolutely horrible speeches.

Yeah right!!??! Remember "Read My Lips No New Taxes"???

At least his plans state that he wont...unlike Obama's

Obama/Biden WILL NOT increases taxes on the country as a whole. That's a damned lie. Obviously you did NOT listen to Barack Obama's speech.

Obama/Biden most certainly will increase taxes on the country as a whole! Again, they may not raise taxes on the middle class, but they will increase the amount of money that is going into the national treasury to fund the many programs that they intend to initiate. By increasing the amount of money going to the federal government, how then are they not raising taxes on the country as a whole? Remember "whole" means everyone, not just you and me.

Here is another way of looking at it. I'll use Coca Cola Co. as an example. Say Obama gets elected, he will increase taxes on Coke's "windfall" profits, capital gains, income...etc..

What do you think Coke is going to in turn do? They will raise the cost of a Coke to supplement their increased cost. You will be paying more for your Coke. If you were an employee of Coke you will also be potentially paying, because increased prices will cause a decrease in sales. Decreased sales and increased taxes will cause Coke to employee less people.

Taxes on corporations are embedded in everything you buy. You may not pay more taxes directly, but they will trickle down to you. That is what is wrong with bottom-up economics.

Have you thought about WHY those jobs are being outsourced? The cost of doing business here is higher than in other places in the world and a part of that is the tax structure of this country. Adding additional taxes will only outsource MORE jobs and create a larger problem within this country. Other countries are not chomping at the bit to create a business presence (at least not a permanent one) in this country because of the tax burden to foreign corporations doing business here. That also helps prevent the creation of new jobs. It's a vicious cycle that will continue to feed itself. As jobs are lost, less consumer spending, less demand for product, more layoffs, etc, etc, etc.

The US should adopt the Fair Tax which would make us the world's largest tax shelter country and companies would be lining up at the borders to do business here and stimulate the economy. It would eliminate the use of taxation as a political weapon.

Oh, I see what YOU are saying, and I see your point. It's just that there are many companies, unfortunately, that outsource to cut hourly wages and for the fact that in other countries they would either not have to pay healthcare insurance or have to pay very little.

IA with a Fair Tax. My biggest psuh is for companies to invest in America, ad not make the fewer richer while the many are not getting a fair shake. I see what you are saying. :)

That's a lie as well. Those taxes on businesses and the rich shall be put back on by Obama/Biden! This record breaking deficit of W & Dick's will greatly improve with Obama/Biden.

So then, in your opinion, what caused the 2001 recession?

The mortgage crisis was caused by W/Dick's policies..

How so? Based on all of the facts that I have read it was caused by Democratic legislation from the late 90's early 00's that relaxed mortgage guidelines.

The improved economy under Bill Clinton was NOT short-lived at all. It lasted 8 damned years. W & Dick's Iraq war and deal with big oil for high gas and oil prices.

So why did it not last past 8 years? Why did it end before he left office?

Georgia is not ranked No. 1.

USC is.
