Now John McCain is the "Change Candidate".

He blasted BO for saying that there is alot more to real life than just change. Now he has taken the "change" mantle for himself and is now acting like he has been for change the entire campaign........

And the "liberal media" are saying that it is a battle as to who will be the change candidate.

You really have to shake your head sometimes at some of these people.

I was basing it on the definition of recession. Decline in GDP for two consecutive quarters. Our GPD has actually been growing.

Our economy has been slowing, but it has not declined. I think that says a lot about the resiliency of our economy, considering gas prices and the housing market.

As far as I know McCain has the only plan that will truly combat unemployment. He will not raise taxes on business, while Obama will. Maybe I misunderstand Obama's plan, but adding additional income tax on business doesn't seem that it will allow business to employ at their greatest potential.

McCain also wants to reorganize unemployment insurance. The system in place now was established in the 1950's. He favors a system that will put people right back to work and pay them less but at least they will be working. He also favors a plan that will train unemployed individuals through new work, rather than just handing out money.

Barak Obama's Plan for Small Business includes the following:

Provide Tax Relief for Small Businesses and Start Ups: Barack Obama believes that we need to reduce burdens on small business owners, many of whom are struggling to succeed as health care and energy costs continue to skyrocket. Barack Obama will support small business owners by providing a $500 “Making Work Pay” tax credit to almost every worker in America. Self-employed small business owners pay both the employee and the employer side of the payroll tax, and this measure will reduce the burdens of this double taxation. Barack Obama will also eliminate all capital gains taxes on start-up businesses to encourage innovation and job creation.

Senator Obama also has a plan to help small businesses get loans:

Expand Loan Programs for Small Businesses: Access to capital is a top concern among small business owners. Barack Obama cosponsored the bipartisan Small Business Lending Reauthorization and Improvements Act. This bill expands the Small Business Administration’s loan and micro-loan programs which provide startup and long-term financing that small firms cannot receive through normal channels. Obama will work to help more entrepreneurs get loans, expand the network of lenders, and simplify the loan approval process.

You can include me with Westmoreland. He actually lives about 10 minutes away from me in a little town called Sharpsburg GA.

I also, have never used the term with racial overtones in mind. I would use it only as a word to describe "snobs".

$500.00 a year? That's not a joke is it? You know that is about 10% of what the average worker pays towards taxes. Small businesses do not usually pay capital gains taxes, unless they become very successful very fast. They do however pay income tax. Obama will raise income tax on small business that draw in $250,000 or more per year. I am confused as how this will be of benefit.

That last line is utterly ridiculous. It's totally idiotic to imply that just because the Obama spokesperson didn't point it out to him doesn't mean they agree with him in the least.

McCain should be happy now that he set a ratings record forr a presidential acceptance speech and drew a bigger audience than Obama. Too bad they shifted the football game for that though.

First you said he would raise taxes on businesses. This was posted, and now you are blasting how much the amount is.

Damn.

Oh, and try this..............walk up to a person of color and call them uppity.

And see the response you get.
