Members titan1978
I will tune into GL for the fisrt time in years to see this, but I have to agree somewhat with what Dan posted earlier. Crap can come in a pretty box but still be crap. Now if it was Lorraine Broderick and Wendy Riche begining as the new writing/producing team, along with the stylistic changes, I would be all over this. I hope other soaps pay attention to P&G's well, gamble. I celebrate P&G for taking a chance in this day and age. It reminds me of the stories I read about Gloria Monty filming on location, and how she wanted GH to look like no other soap on the air. The difference was she was a producer with great vision and clout, plus she had a great writing team that was headed by someone who wanted to embrace change but not throw away everything that soaps should be about. I am excited about how this looks, but I'm not as excited for the characters to open thier mouths.
Members AddictedToSoaps
It's possible. EW did say that GL was getting a new opening and the music in the promo kind of reminds me of the 2005-2006 opening theme, so maybe they just remixed it. I bet the new opening is going to premiere on February 29th, to go with the new changes.
Members leevo64
Maybe I'm behind the times, but is this for a special event or is Guiding Light changing its look for good? Are there going to be normal indoor sets anymore or are they going the EastEnders route?
Members RoseVioletDaisy
The change is supposed to be permanent. I'm not really clear on if there will be anymore indoor sets or if they're simply changing them but there are supposed to be alot more exterior and on-location shoots. And alot of hand held camera work. Alot of the shots in the promo were previously aired material, mostly exterior shots from past episodes. There were a few new shots like the wide aerial shot of the lighthouse. That'll probably be the tag shot in the new opening. I would expect alot of scenes in parks, parking garages, and stairwells though, like the ones that filled the Halloween and Christmas episodes. Unfortunately, I think the scenes in real houses and outdoor locations that they actually have to pay to use will be pretty sparse. Members miss wolf
Thanks for the screencaps, RoseVioletDaisy. I thought it was Cassie at the cemetery . Oh well. I see these promos like a movie trailer...They always show the best scenes in them but the movie itself can be really bad. Well no matter how much EW changes the look, without good writing that make sense and doesn't destroy every character, GL will still suck!!
