Members ljacks13
Is there are reason why the ratings are coming out later and later now? Are they really so bad that they don't to release anymore?
Members brimike
Nielsen doesn't hold back releasing ratings because they're bad. They're probably just late with the calculations and percentages because of the holiday. But whether they're good or bad, Nielsen always releases them when they're ready to go. Members NeoAngelicLiz
Still though isn't it a lil sketchy that no one has given us an official word regarding it one way or another? I mean a simple post saying, "The Ratings will be delayed because of blah blah blah" wouldn't hurt....instead of this confusion/paranoia.
Members buttoneer
You mean a post from the Nielsen people? Why do I have the feeling they don't care about what we think... It's strange how dependent I've become on finding out these numbers--my week doesn't feel complete without knowing how ATWT did.
Members NeoAngelicLiz
Or a mod I guess.. And yeah its kinda scary how obsessed we're becoming with ratings...
Members edgeofnik
Nielsen has had many problems during the first couple of weeks of the new TV season. National prime time ratings that used to come out in the morning are more often than not delayed to afternoon. Probably a big portion is that DVR homes jumped from almost 9% last year to 20%. Prime time averages are down significantly in LIVE + 1 day and they still haven't released Live + 7 day, which is the new standard, for the first week. This has nothing to do with ratings being bad, etc. The funny thing about daytime is that the ratings rarely shift significantly week to week. It's probably better to look at a show's performance month-to-month or quarter-to-quarter. Chill folks.
Administrator Toups Posted October 12, 2007 Author Administrator Share Posted October 12, 2007 I've been saying this for the past couple of years but I'll see again for those who are new......I'll post the ratings when I get the ratings. I'm sure it's the same with Lskreet.
Members CouchTomato
Thanks for all you do for us, Toups! We know if anyone has the numbers, it'll be you or Lskreet. It's aggravating to have overnites on all shows every day but once-a-week soap numbers are like pulling teeth.

Members jcar03
I'm guessing Nielsen won't be releasing them until Monday.
Members Carolyn1980
The ABC press release lists the first 6 shows in the 18-49 demo: 1 Y&R 1.7....................1,140,000 2 GH 1.6......................1,050,000 3 OLTL 1.5.....................970,000 4 The View 1.3...............885,000 4. B&B 1.3.....................854,000 4. AMC 1.3.....................847,000 (the last 3 are listed in order of total 18-49 viewers...they tied in rating, but they vary in viewer totals). Based on this data, DAYS has to be at least at their record low of 1.2 in this demo last week, maybe lower.
Members dtchicago
Glad to see OLTL hold steady. I am wondering if it possibly tied GH this week in households
Members Graciecat
Y&R certainly took a dive in the demos, but the rest of them look the same. Too bad, though. I had so hoped that OLTL would get a real boost. And I'm downright scared to see the DOOL ratings.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Judging by the, Y&R is down -2 in that demo, and GH ties its low rating again. GH, OLTL, B&B, and AMC stay the same.
