You must of missed place where he knocked your boys woman on side Julie Carruthers LOL

LOL! That was one of my favorite parts of this article.

It's nice to know we were right all along about what an incompetent, lazy, and overall clueless EP JHC is at AMC. For too long blame was placed on Frons for her actions, it's nice to know she's as much apart of the problem as he is.

SOW: How do you feel about that aspect of American daytime, 'the shirtless man syndrome?"

JS: If it's appropriate, then I feel it's fine. If it's just for the sake of [doing it], it's not. There was one scene when I got started on the show where I was going out to get the mail. I bumped into Austin, and we had a long conversation, almost rubbing nipples with each other. It was completely pointless. There are other scenes where it's appropriate. But the nice thing about being a bad guy is that nobody really wants to sleep with you. So there aren't a lot of shirts coming off for EJ.

Toups, why did you leave that out?

Because I wanted the topic to be about James bashing the rape storyline. LOL

But when I read that part about the nipples, I just laughed because I thought of Jim Reilly.

Alison, Bryan and James have said Sami was raped. There's no ifs ands or buts about it. It may not be your "typical" soap rape, but it was rape nonetheless.

I so agree that this should not be turned into a rape debate because rape is so far from what happened in that car. Because Sami didn't enjoy the sex, it was rape? News flash...how many other whores enjoy sex with men they don't want to sleep with.

EJ was not obligated to help Sami just as Sami was not obligated to pay EJ his ASKING PRICE!

It's rape because an actor says so? That's laughable!

The only rapist in the Ejami duo is Sami, and if Austin can fall for his RAPIST, than certainly Sami can fall for the man with which she man a bad deal.

Wow, that's harsh. You know, I enjoy the hell out of Sami and EJ, and think that they have amazing chemistry. But, however it came across on screen, the ultimate intent was to portray it as a rape. Of course, EJ gave her a choice; its either let me have sex with you, or I won't help save Lucas. To me. she had no choice. Maybe in the real world she could have gotten help somewhere else, but in the DAYS world, there was no one else, and she wasn't going to let Lucas die. What EJ did was cruel and nasty. And yet, I still like EJ and Sami, because it's a very complex story. But, I still believe it was rape.

::Phew:: Glad to hear you say that. ;) Meanwhile, there are others taking a long boatride on de Nile

ITA with James. I think one of the worst scenes in this story was when Sami's family learned of the rape and had next to NO reaction. It's like HUH???

I think it's funny that people have blinders on about their favorite couples, in this instance, people feel like they have to pretend EJ didn't rape Sami, in order to like them together. The whole story was handled poorly, although I believe it's in character for EJ, to do what he did. He was raised to think he could have anything that he wanteds, to take, without asking. And what he wanted, was Sami. Could Sami forgive him and believe that he's changed, because she herself has changed? And then Sami could go through all sorts of trauma having feelings for him, wondering what that must say about her. There is lots of story here, but if they don't actually deal with the rape, than it will be lost. Luckily, James and Alison would be up for the challenge if given the chance

If I recall correctly EJ also had a gun which Sami brought up later when EJ said she didn't have to "sleep" with him and she said that it was the only way to help Lucas and the fact that he had a gun.

EVERYONE that means anything has said it was Rape, the actors the writers. There are about 5 people who are living in their own little la-de-da world who keep bring SHOVING it down our throats that they think its not.

Excuse me? I stand by my assesment. James loves Ejmai he did not like 180 done on EJ just to try to prop Lucas and Lami at time.

Nothing in the above interview supports these claims. Stop projecting your own opinions onto James.

Good post! This is pretty much my opinion on the whole debacle also. Sami is one person who COULD forgive the rape because she has done so many horrible things and been forgiven over and over again. She knows the value of repentance and forgiveness. I'm clinging to the hope that the writers will explore all of this still, but they seem to just keep dancing around the whole issue.
