I don't think they are stupid enough to fire Deidre, but Corday is the king of stupid choices. It's silly that they would fire Drake or Deidre. Especially since, they just brought back Tony, Stefano, Lexie, Anna, Steve, Kayla, Doug, Julie, Philip,Adrianne, Rolf Soon Chloe and the ratings haven't improved but went down. IMO they should be the first on the chopping block with the new arrivals Stephanie, Jett, and Jeremy.

In her interview in 06? I believe, she quoted to Soap Opera Digest that DAYS was her home and she would never leave. She even said that she would be willing to go to recurring if she had to.

Times change, she hasn't been used much for the past year, and she probably has better things to do than just wait around. I don't know, but she shouldn't be held down to something she's said in the past, because circumstances concerning Days are much different now than they were a year ago. Dee seems like the type of person who would leave a show with budget problems because her salary might be too high to maintain, but who knows?

Anyway, I'd wait for official confirmation before I'd get too caught up in this rumor.

Get it "confirmed" in then post about it especially when you know that the news is going to cause hysteria.

Its all been said before. The problem with Days is that ALMOST NONE of the new characters are that strong or remotely interesting. Besides Shawn, Belle, and Phillip (who are really approaching the midage group) I don't see anyone in the younger set that remotely appeals to me that much.

Its the complete opposite of Y&R where I feel that most of the younger set is definitely awesome and has great chemistry with lots of potential stories to be told.

Vets should not be the be all end all of a soap IMO. If DH leaves though you can pretty much say goodbye to a lot of Days fans. Its sad but probably true.

I'm not watching the show too much these days except to see Sami and EJ but thats only cuz it seems like theres nothing really interesting going on. The beginning of the feud story was excellent but now it just seems a lil monotone. However I wish Days the best and I truly hope that they're able to do something to make the show get rid of their dependence on John and Marlena.

The fact that Drake and Deidre have hardly been on for quite some time now, and that they are not even really involved with trying to end the vendetta with the DiMera's (which they are a HUGE part of) makes me believe that this may be true. They are only around occasionally and it is just to read the stupid letters. That doesn't make ANY sense. It sure seems like they are weeding them out.

I have to disagree with the bolded part, because that dosen't sound like the person /character that I've known and loved all these many years.

I just have to wonder what morale is like amongst the cast. It must be frightening thinking about who'll be fired next.

If Days' budget can't maintain these actors then they needs to go the GL route. You know, BALANCED utilization of the cast. Hell, in all of August, Kim Zimmer appeared in 13 episodes of GL, yet that was enough to make her the #1 used actor of the month. Days needs to look at the GL model and start using it, before their budget goes completely to hell, much like GL's. It's better to start early, before it's way too late.
