And just one thing. The Busty (Borat and Lusty) props are the six best looking props ever IMO. The ladies look beautiful (love DH's outfit and hair, KA's all sassy in her new 'do and mrs Hayes looks fantastic), the men are dashing (John's finally in a t-shirt) and damn they're so damn cute! All of them.

"Tweaking" is not going to make a big difference and I honestly don't think Ed Scott is a miracle worker.

I hear that Wyman wasn't the problem at "Days" as much as Ken Corday and SONY are.

Hogan Sheffer's contract will probably protect his power over the stories.

Maybe they're bringing in a new HW???

I just don't see a substantial change, big enough to save the show in store.

I am going to comment on both yesterday and today. While yesterday was boring, it was also well-written. The Max stuff was funny and I am enjoying the Nick story. Chelsea/Jett suck but I did enjoy the Jeremy/Stephanie stuff. Well done and pretty good acting. Hennig rocks and Donovan is really improving, as is the writing for him.

The Shawn/Belle/Philip stuff over the past two days has been good. Belle is not really acting out of character. Shawn is always making decisions without her so her reaction was spot on. I like this triangle and like watching them deal with realistic obstacles. The compromise at the end was nice.

Colleen and Santo was magical and the chemistry was great. I give Hogan props for thinking outside the box and also telling a story that is filled with romance. I think the characters at the head of it are what the problem is. Poor Ali and James...they are really trying and Hogan is making an effort at something creative and it's looked at as crap because the big 4 aren't the end all to be all this time. It's a shame. Kudos to all of them. I appreciate it. Love little Shawn too. The actor did great and his scenes were heartbreaking.

Liked the reactions by everyone reading the letters. Cute. Drake is just terrible. I know he isn't given much but could he at least put in some effort? Ugh.

Not too bad today after the boredom of yesterday. I am really psyched for the rest of the week.

Oh, and sign me up in support of Sheri as a CO-HW. I don't want her as HW but I think she would be superb with Hogan. Meg Kelly is the problem IMO. You need someone to balance Hogan out and Sheri can help with the history and the characters. She is very much needed and would be the missing piece IMO.

    • The AMC hate came from Jamey Giddens/DC and their industry friends, IMO. For whatever reason I always felt they targeted the show, and it was wrong. AMC ratings were decent and even went up under Pratt (Yet, he was fired). The ratings were also good under Broderick and lowered out after her interim.  There was no reason to be upset with the show other than it being slow. They literally played it safe and did the best they could in 2010 and 2011.
    • I have very detailed synopses of all 1976 storylines for the soaps from the Daytime Serial Newsletter. Please let me know if you are interested in a particular show and I will post it in the appropriate thread. As I stated they are very detailed, so I don't want to clutter up threads if posters are not interested.

    • Surely we (and Billy Flynn) are not going to be saddled with a character named Aristotle Dumas? This isn't 1970's Edge of Night.
    • What annoys me a little bit about the "day players" is they sound a bit too "Brooklyn-ish" sometimes.  Obviously, the show was taped in New York City, and the actors are all New York actors, but Monticello is supposed to be located in Illinois or Ohio.  Occasionally, they grab actors and actresses for small roles who have VERY distinct New York accents, which contrasts sharply with the main cast, none of whom have noticeable accents (except for our dashing European gigolo, Eliot Dorn, of course).  The heavy Brooklyn accent works fine if the character is a bookie, or the owner of a pawn shop, or a guy who's selling stolen guns on the street corner.  But when it's a steadily recurring character -- such as the first Mrs. Goodman, who worked for Miles and Nicole -- it's pretty jarring to me sometimes.  And you'll see it often -- such as an "under-five" character who witnesses a car accident, or a character who witnesses a shooting, or the occasional desk clerk, or waiter.

    • That's always been my thought. I can't imagine that the show would play up the unseen AD so far in advance without them casting a *star*. After today's episode, I wonder if he'll somehow be connected with Diane. It was strange that Diane mentioned her very distant family today. I can't recall Diane ever talking about her backstory. Maybe he's her much younger brother?  It's also possible he's connected to Diane during her time in LA. Sally's already said she crossed paths with him. OC, I think Dumas is Mariah's mistake.... As a side note, it was good to see some mixing it up - Adam with Clare/Kyle and Sharon with Tessa.
