Sleep Hollow Ryan

Here we go now we got Dr. Joe telling St. Ryan that he ought to get some sleep since his holiness is feeling a tad bit tired but then again when you are a superhero you are always burned out at times. I mean it must be so hard trying to master the Greek, Spanish, Dynamite Kiddo, and English alphabets while taking on the dumb blonde known as Muffy who is trying to read through The Cat In The Hat (Dynamite Kiddo has yet to meet this challenge). Geez all of this makes a superhero like Dynamite Kiddo into a tired bug so the question is will he have it in him to take Dr. Joe's advice and take a nap? Maybe we can all get so lucky that the naps lasts for eternity and he manages to actually never wake up and tell you that you are wrong for eating potatoes with gravy and you manage to mash them like Ryan mashes his "car" into Annie's "garage" geez you just have to always get it right when you are around the perfect man himself known as Ryan. Now if Ryan goes to sleep, I just wonder what the dream will be about. Could it be that he has superhero healing powers as Dynamite Kiddo and can heal Spike's deafness? But in the process, Ryan is the one who becomes deaf! No more pontificating, no more singing the Star Spangled Banner while scratching your a$$, no more telling Erica that she ought to use the word grandma (although here I would agree with his holiness), and no more telling stupid Knock Knock jokes to Annie and the Green Butterfly. Hey hey something good may come out of Ryan's nap

It's funny the ryan stuff doesn't bug me. I can see why it bugs others and I find his character irritating btu I find all this SOO dead on to hischaracter--and maybe it helps that I know a guy who has the same complex--basically hero complex. Like Ryan it is his downfall and at the least ends up making everyone annoyed with him

I honestly thought the ending was sad, but lame. Maybe had it been directed better, or made more sense to make a really loud noise to show that Spike might be deaf....but when Sabine 'tripped' over herself and 'accidently' made the bedpans crash to the floor...I was rolling my eyes, asking 'really'? lol

Anyway - I reallllllllly loved the Annie/Ryan/Emma scenes. They were the highlight of the episode for me. That Emma is so adorable, and we haven't seen her too much lately. I really think it's important to have her around right now, as it shows Ryan still has a daughter he loves just as much that is alive and well. And Annie is just so cute and loving too...I loved the picnic thing.

Honestly, the Ava/Lenny thing....eh, I don't really care. Ava has annoyed me lately with her attitude. I thought she was turning a new leaf when she's around Lily - but once Lily is gone - all she does is bitch and bitch and bitch! It gets old quick....and we don't know Lenny THAT well to care whether he's caught, runs, or is just killed. Eh. And Derek was back to being a little bitch to his friends (Jack) - which I thought we had gotten over with the writer change...

    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
    • You've been seeing him all along. You just didn't know it was him, I guess.

    • Where to for Dana? She's pissed off the Duprees (most of the cast), alienated her daughter and will she be welcomed by the Have Nots at the diner? Maybe she can befriend Ashley and Derek and liven up their story.
    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
