You have to admit, the OPP story should have ended with a fire and Vincent saving Tate from it. Irony. I know that Vincent saved Tate, but I just always expected the story to end with a fire and Adriana, Layla, Talia, Nora, and Rex to all be either in the fire or waiting outside.

I give high praise to RC for just ending it. It was a stinker storyline. I can see RC's touch in bringing so many of these stories to a quick end rather than prolonging them.

They may be DH's stories, but he is bringing them to an end and I'm glad he is doing that. It's time for a fresh start.

You're right. Fire was the common element but as others have said I'm just glad to see it end. It's one of those stories that sounds good on paper, and maybe Malone could have done a good job of it during his first run, but this was CRA P.

Today I felt we were getting Dena out of our systems. Maybe things are looking up. I actually saw something beyond eye-candy potential in Tobias Truvillion today.

Friday's show was not bad for a number of reasons.

The OPP is over. I hated that storyline. I enjoyed Todd, Blair and Starr. When he was complaining that his wound hurt and itched and she said she would have nurse cratchet come scratch it, I thought, that is Todd and Blair. I enjoyed Starr standing up to her dad. I think Todd and Blair -- Trevor and Kassie -- have a nice chemistry and I think their family stuff is great.

I liked Cole and Matthew. Marty and John got the fast forward, but I did enjoy Cole and Matthew and Matthew and Nora. On a side note though. They really go over board sometimes with the isn't Matthew wise storylines.

I like Jessica and Nash and so I enjoyed the show with them Friday. I thought they were very cute at the beginning when she called him a liar and I think Bree and Forbes have a great deal of chemistry. The honeymoon was corny, but it was sweet. The show needs a little sweet.

I'm glad Paige left without being in a pine box or carted off to prison. I liked the actress and thought she was very good and I'll miss having a female doctor at the hospital. I'm not troubled she is leaving. There are others I would prefer left first and there are others that I think should come back. She's gone, no great thing, no terrible thing, but it was handled well.

It was another little transition day that I enjoyed. I believe we are going into a week or so of ending some of these stories (I hope). I'm wondering if Asa's funeral isn't going to kick off some of RC's first stories.

All-in-all, it was a pretty good week. Still too much Marty and John, but I think even with RC, as long as FV is in charge there will be too much Marty and John and probably Vincent. There will also be Clint and Dorian -- I'll never get that one . However, I think I'm going to get to see other stories that I like, including Viki finally getting a real story, so I remain optimistic.

No we can't. LOL.

I like em. Also they were on your screen once last week, and twice the week before. They were on far less than Marty, John, Todd, Blair, Starr, Cole, Vincent, Layla, Adrianna, Rex. In fact, they were on less than Viki, Dorian, David and Clint.

It's a new day, we all get to watch characters we like. You can fast forward through those I like and you don't.

I am really really hoping, that if nothing else, the show returns to an ensemble cast. I don't know how any character or couple can be interesting when they are on five days a week for weeks on end. Hell, I really like Jess and Nash and got tired of them in May. They were on every day -- and the story sucked.

So, if nothing else, I hope we return to a day when no character was on more than three days a week and two days told a pretty good story.

Marty doesn't have a strong following, no way she can carry a show this many days. There is no story strong enough for the John McBain airtime.

So if RC does anything, I hope he stops this overdose of certain characters, including those I like.

    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archivedcopy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
    • I said this on Twitter on Friday when Leslie mentioned Chicago, so perhaps she might be related to one of Anita's bandmates. In addition, Leslie did say she grew up listening to The Articulettes too.
    • There was a scene in the past week or two with Leslie looking at some papers and mementos, which included an invitation or souvenir from Alan's memorial service or funeral -- it was dated as November 2024. Me just guessing but it seems to me that Martin's nightmares about the accident are from something longer ago than November.
    • ah thanks! do you know who the third one was in the blonde? the fifth one i know ive seen before in the brown wig but i forgot, and then ive never seen the psychic one before lol
    • I felt for Ted early on but as the story unfolded it has changed my opinion on him. To know he was cheating while his wife was struggling to give him a baby is a lot to deal with. Plus, this happened ages ago and still he's paying Leslie off and threatening her to leave town.  What really caused me to lose him in this episode was how even though he was busted, he still refused to take responsibility and come clean and the way he talked to Martin and Eva was terrible. To tell Smitty he better get Martin away from him when that is his SON who he used to cover up his affair? That is true dog behavior. Ted seems upset he got caught but I'm not seeing the remorse I would need to want Nicole to forgive him. I'm curious how I'll feel after Ted gets to talk to Nicole but I need him to fix it with the rest of the family as well.
    • I'm sorry. I well remember Jake doing Doris but I have no independent memory of the story around it.  Krystle with a K Lake, sure, both Tony the Tuna stories & NOT.  And, Jake also impersonated a woman named Bunny Eberhardt but he didn't know she was a woman so there was no drag. This weekend I re-watched Kevin & Mac, GH, and my strong impression is exactly what it was when I watched it in real time: They did not let them look very pretty. Of course, I think the best ever drag on GH was Alexis posing as the Q butler.  In a different use of drag at AW one Halloween, Jensen Buchanan went as Charlie Chaplin & Judi Evans went as, I think, a male gypsy.
