Pretty good show today, The best stuff was Emily/Susan/Ali/Aaron/Dusty mainly because most of this storyline is coming to an end, KMH again did a great job today with her acting. The Carly/Brad/Jack/Katie stuff was boring and is getting very old.

I can't wait to see where we are headed with so many storylines coming to and end in the next few days/weeks. Hopefully JP will give us something more interesting than these past several storylines. Hopefully Luke's storyline starts to really get going.

LOL!! Looks like nobody felt like discussing "As the World Turns from the Twilight Zone" today. Honestly, with all the re-written history and especially with the canonization of Katie into sainthood by both Jack AND Carly,, I thought I'd tuned into the alternate universe episode of ATWT. That whole Katie/Brad/Jack/Carly mess has sunk so low into stupidity that I just roll my eyes and hit the FF button. It breaks my heart to have to fast forward thru my favorite ATWT character Jack, but right now, watching him be more and more destroyed by this ridiculous story is just too painful.

And the Em/Dust/Ali/Aaron stuff was ALMOST as bad. What, in the name of all that is holy, has happened to MY show??? :(

I thought today's eppy wasn't bad at all. (Compared to the Branson mess, this is Shakespeare. :D)

I still thought Emily was one sanctimonious bitch to Dusty and Ali today, but I felt for both of them, and seeing Susan is always a good thing.

I didn't "get" some of the backpedaling in the Carly/Jack/Katie scenes, but I took it like this. EVERYONE is fooling themselves. Jack says he's over Carly, and that he's not defending her...but he is. Katie says she's not insecure and jealous, and she's trying to be truthful, but she isn't. (Brad made a great point that Jack spends most of his time soothing Katie's fraying nerves...) And Carly doesn't want to play games to get Jack's attention, but she's in on Brad's little plan anyway. I thought the interaction between Jack and Carly was the most relaxed I've seen them with each other in ages, and made me grin from ear to ear, in spite of the circumstances.

WOW PJ, I'm surprised. I figured you would really hate today's KACK stuff. It didn't bother you to see Jack taking Carly up on her offer to take Sage off his hands so he could go bang Fluffy some more before the night was over? I thought that was terribly insensitive of him to call the twit right in Carly's face and tell her how he was going to rock her world some more if they can get together again tonight.

And, you could have a point about the EmDustAli stuff because honestly, I mostly zoned it all out and didn't process one conversation, not even when Susan was in the scene. LOL! :)

Oh, and I'm sure anything would be an improvement over the Branson stuff, but I'll have to take your word for it because I didn't watch one bit of it. I think it's on my DVR so I might FF thru it sometime in the next few days, but I had absolutely NO interest in that stupidity. Glad Cleo is gone though. Her twitchiness and that gawd-awful speech thru those silly teeth made me want to scratch and pop some nerve pills. :)

Today's the first time I've watched in awhile. Wasnt interested in the Branson fiasco and the whole Paul, Meg and Craig mess is just plain boring. I live for Jack and Carly as you probably know by now. Can't stand what they are doing to these two characters. What the hell is wrong with Jack? I hear the conversations he has with Caty and I just shake my head. And what the hell is Carly doing going along with Brads ridiculous schemes. They are horrible.

I wish they would just make Carly ignore Jack and get on with her life. Nothing attracts a man's attention more than when you ignore him for pete's sake. Lord, please hurry up with this storyline already. It's very hard to watch. And what's with Caty thinking he's going to propose? How long have they been dating for pete's sake? Lord she just got divorced!! So stupid.

Today is the first time in a long time I actually liked Dusty today. Man I really felt for him. He really rocked his senes today. I felt for Emily too but please....just stupid. Why didn't she just say I need some time to think about this. Maybe she did....I missed the last few minutes of their conversation.

I'm actually liking Dusty and Emily and I don't know why? lol

Well, the Kack crap by itself would have left a bad taste in my mouth...and it took me a while to figure out Carly hadn't just "dropped by" to try and wheedle Jack into letting her have Sage for the night, she was following Brad's plan.

I know peeps are mad at Jack, and I think he's insane for going within 100 yards of that twit. But I see Jack as extremely defensive around Carly, and using Fluff as armor. So today's eppy, with Jack and Carly being more like themselves than they've been in almost two years just overshadowed the thought of what Jack's intentions with Katie were.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that Katie's being set up for a huge fall. :D

I don't know what to say about Emily. On one level, I understand she's upset. But given her recent-recent activities, how she can criticize anyone for their behavior just makes no sense to me. It was only a year and a half ago she was rolling Paul off the cliff after shooting him. Not that every bad thing she's ever done needs to be brought up, but c'mon...she and Dusty were barely friends. Alison is her sister-daughter, and if that was emphasized more, maybe I'd get her indignation about Dusty "using" Ali. But Em seems stuck on the porn star vs. hooker arguement.

    • To their credit, the new writers are clever to stick to current events from the time they were taping, versus trying to predict current events at the time the episode airs.  Case in point, Susan and questionable choice to hop on a cruise two days after her son was shot, and the case remains unsolved, so her remains at risk...

Although cruises around the world are not uncommon for Salem citizens like Julie, it seemed like the type of reference DOOL continues to like dropping into scripts for humor. Also, help me understand the Marlena and EJ interaction.  Didn't they come to a mutual détente earlier in the week?  I felt gaslighted, but I could've just as easily misunderstood Marlena's earlier talk to Belle, and then EJ. And is Bo in Boston (near Ceara) or Greece (where he was transferred after he was shot)?  I bet it is expensive to fly a coma patient transatlantically!
    • It was one of the bigger disappointments that Sarah wasn't part of the book.
    • They clearly loved her offcamera. I wish I could appreciate her work more, but...I don't. Thanks for telling me what Levin said at the end. I still don't think Carney was bad, but I guess he would always see them as not shining compared to Kate.
    • Around 2002, when I would have killed Alan, I'd bring back Amanda, who would have a love/hate relationship with Philip mirroring Alan and Alex, I'd have a proper Alex recast, I might bring back Alan-Michael (and maybe Hope or Mike on recurring), and I'd bring in a long-lost son for Philip who would be around his late teens or early twenties.  I agree that Philip would still need a rival. That's where giving Roger another long-lost kid (not Sebastian) could have worked in this timeframe.
    • @ranger1rg @DemetriKaneI was sure I was swimming upstream alone on this. I get that they are all proud to be Duprees, but the writers are just overplaying it. Ted's an ass, but presumably, he's been a model husband for the last 25 (?) years...but he just isn't good enough (or can handle or whatever..) a Dupree woman? *cough* I guess the next "shocker" is whatever Vernon and Anita's secret is. I hope it's something a little more original than him cheating on Anita.
    • Yes, that was probably to he case. In  the book, after Malcolm Groome (Pat) said he dated Kathleen Tolan,  he said he saw her theater work and found her to be  "compelling and charismatic actress"  In one of Ilene Kristen's many video interviews promoting the book, she also praised Kathleen.
    • David knowing Burke was going to die and making sure to say goodbye to him was very unnerving. Some of the last moments where David Henesy's otherworldly vibes from those first few years are put to good use. I agree that the few months right before 1795 are excellent. They do a great job with building suspense and going through insane twists.  DS was never going to be able to have a long run anyway, with the high burnout rate and a number of principal cast not likely to stay, but I do wonder what might have been if they had done a better job with the present day after the return from 1795.
    • Off of the Xander/Paulina scenes in Thursday's episode, I really hope that means we're getting Theo coming home permanently. I didn't really see much of Cameron Johnson in the role, and though he was pretty and I'm thankful for his occasional thirst traps on Insta, Kyler Pettis could not act, so a brand new recast would be fine by me, but if you all think Cameron doesn't a real shot, I'd be fine with that, too. I just want Theo to be taken seriously as a character for once and make his place on this show like he deserves. I was annoyed the second Susan showed up again, but I do admit it was interesting to see her reunite with Marlena and see their dynamic when EJ joined them. Hopefully now we're done with her forever. As for John, this last bit of hope Marlena is getting before the inevitable is already so devastating. This is going to be so hard to watch. Xander reminding the audience he IS a cold blooded murderer, point blank. Paul Telfer was devilishly terrifying. Taking off his jacket was such a sexy power move. That Philip doesn't have a permanent dent in his face will be a miracle. It'll be interesting if it'll just be the one punch or if next week will see Philip more battered and bruised. How bad are they going to make Xander look? I will say, the best part of this story is that I'm not rooting for one over the other. How Philip reacts to this violence will be interesting. I also liked how everything with stealing the drug ended up. Very messy. Steve even made me laugh at one point, and I've been indifferent to him for years. I hope poor Kevin doesn't get scapegoated, but it'll be nice to see him presumably reunite with Shawn next. We'll be really lucky if Belle somehow crosses paths with him, too.
    • I've really been enjoying seeing him/Smitty interact with other actors/characters
    • She didn't want a hotel room; doubt she's going to want the apartment room, either. There was no reason to re-arrange the other one. This was the most logical move.
