The whole rape/Sami/EJ story is so messed up right now that I wish they'd pull a Bobby Ewing and make it all a dream. Sami is adding new details we never saw and doing a complete personality change on her feelings for EJ, and he is becoming a watered down, sappy Dimera on the verge of betraying his entire family to their worst enemies. IF Sami had acted this way when the rape occured, it would be one thing but she didn't and this delayed reaction doesn't make sense. And EJ is losing the edge that made him interesting. He can be redeemed without making him into a lovesick fool. That's why I always liked EJ and Sami--they had this great fire and passion together. Their scenes had electricity, unlike the silly stuff we got today with Lucas acting like a teenager and Sami panting like a porn star every time Lucas touched her.

And...I still can't figure out if Stefano is faking his illness for some devious reason (remember Rolf's insistence that Stefano NOT go to the hospital?) or if he's really sick. And that fugue state he went into last week reminded me of Tony's blackouts when he returned to Salem with that mystery blood disorder.

I thought today's episode was pretty boring overall...no progress on the major stories and just trying hard to show some sort of comparison between Lumi and Bope. Bope have a great connection that really makes their scenes entertaining, even when the scenes themselves are pretty mundane. Lumi - not so much....and that's being kind....

Belle siding with Phil instead of Shawn has me convinced she just wants both of them at the same time...if she's married to Phil she's pining for Shawn, now that she has him she's drawn to Phil again...thankfully they didn't have the little girl who hates her on, it's actually painful to watch that kid try to get away from her....

It was uncomfortable to think, much less hear about Roman possibly having sex....ewww.....but I love Anna, so she made it work for me....I still think they need to put Tony and Anna together again....

EJ/Tony/Stefano - now I have a very deep and abiding love for the DiMeras, but I actually looked at the TV and for the very first time said "what are you doing EJ? That was so dumb." It pained me. I mean I understand the need for redemption, but the goody goody thing annoys me with Sami, and I'm really hoping they aren't going to go overboard with EJ - he needs that edge, it makes him stand out from the other characters. Stefano's faking IMO.

All in all, an okay, nothing special day...can't wait to get through this week. Hopefully next week isn't pre-empted, I'm really looking forward to the Santeen scenes. :)

Wow, what happened to Roman? He had a personality today. Loved all the scenes with him, Bo & Hope and also Anna. I'm a Lumi fan but they were just ok today. What's up with the safe house? It looks more like a motel room to me. The other thing that bugs me is why are Belle and Shawn living with either Philip or Bope? John (her father by the way) owns the loft where she use to live. Go back there and grow up!

Oh boy! My 100 post!

Thanks ArizonaDaze :)

Just one more thought - please burn that jacket and tie that EJ had on. I know they're tight on cash, so if they absolutely need to use that jacket again, tell wardrobe to stop pairing it with striped ties...it's a hideous combo.

Today was much like Friday...it wasn't horrible yet it felt like an episode designed to stall things until next week. This happens alot in recent years during short holiday weeks like this.

Bo, Hope, Roman, and Anna were hilarious. Bope are amazing. From the bet to all the faces they made at each other...they are so back. JT is rocking right now. Roman has personality and is a character again. Love it and loved LeAnn so much.

Stefano, EJ, and Tony was good but went nowhere. It moved a bit and the scenes were fine but not much went down. I have a feeling Stefano may be faking this for some reason and Rolf is in on it.

Belle/Shawn/Philip was boring but at least they are doing something now with the job stuff.

Tomorrow looks like another slow one but it looks somewhat tolerable so we'll see.

In regards to EJ, they need to find a balance between good and evil. They should make him a gray character, like Tony was in the 80''s. That would work.

Loved the DiMera's -- always do and seeing all three together is brilliant; Anna is a blast and the scenes with her, Roman, Bo and Hope were good. The rest of the show was so boring beyond words. Lucas and Sami pathetic at best other than the cops coming in. At this point if they'd come in shooting, I don't think I would have minded. I too would like for EJ to have a little more edge to him - not evil but not like he is now. Sure would be great to see him and Samantha together - the way her character has been written lately makes it feel like I'm watching two versions of lucas and that does not work for me at all. They need to get her away from lucas and fast - I want Sami back!

The more I think about it - it's like a pendulum - they're swinging EJ back to the good side and he's not done yet. They have to emphasize his turn towards good and his motivation behind it (Sami and the babies), before they swing him back to being a little shady. It's just being patient while they do it that I have a problem with.

Sami is completely different when dealing with her family and Lucas, than she is dealing with EJ. I miss bad Sami - her schemes, even when they backfired were great to watch. I always wanted her to grow up, but by being smart about her scheming, not turning into a Scarrie.....I hate that.

And yes, I love EJ and Sami together -they are a great blend of bad/good, and so exciting when onscreen together....

yeah i found the show very boring...And why have bo and hope talk about their bet for the whole show...cute but not for an entire episode! And why cant we see roman and anna actually do the deed instead of talking about it? and lucas and sami are too damn boring....they show stefano drinking and smoking but i am supposed to believe he is dying?hmm..

    • The ones that exist are 10x shittier than the casino they exit in and have wood paneling from the 60’s?
    • So today on The Young in the Restaurants, Nick arrives at GCAC for a workout at the never seen gym when who should be at the table oddly placed in front of the entrance but Phyllis. Nick joins her and Stafford begins acting. Hand gestures, weird line readings, repeating phrases and odd facial expressions-just her normal shtick- but for script reasons Nick finds her manner unusual. Meanwhile Kyle  and Audra meet up at the empty CL and begin bantering. Audra boasts the Vibrator has a great range of products that will disrupt the marketplace-yes in a matter of weeks,Ms Charles has set up a complete company-staff,R&D, product approval, marketing, distribution, w./o ever leaving a restaurant. And more incredibly,Kyle is worried about the threat to Jabot. They need to put a laught track with these scenes.
    • I hated Mick, his mama and their whole raggedy ass family so I’m glad Dyer keeps yapping, hopefully the character remains gone. I never commented on Sonia and Bianca’s exit but I thought it was well done, never been a Sonia fan but it was touching seeing her Bianca ride off with Bex and the new baby. The episodes with Martin’s funeral and Sonia comforting Stacey then Stacey and Ruby finally coming to an understanding were great as well. Nicola held it down for a few weeks with this killed Harry’s girlfriend story and the actor playing Harry has improved quite a bit, I like him and Gina together and his friendship with Kojo. I was hoping for a bigger renovation for The Vic but I do like the refurbished look. The episode where they first opened back up was really good too, great use of Nigel, Billy and the history of East London I really love the stuff they’ve done with Avani and the actress has realy shined but I hate nuVicki’s perv step son and weirdo husband. I really wanted Ravi to whoop both their asses. I’m so happy Cindy is back, I thought she’d be gone longer. Loved her helping Lauren give birth, I felt bad they still kicked her out at the end. Her blackmailing Kathy and Ian was well deserved and I like that she snagged The Albert and still exposed Kathy’s affair with Harvey. Not a fan at all of Harvey and Jean but I did enjoy all the fallout, especially Kat dragging Harvey, Freddie hugging Jean and making her cry. Ive really enjoyed the Clenshaw era so I’m sad to see him go but I’m willing to give the new show-runner a chance. I wonder how many more exits and new additions we’ll see.
    • Same. I love like a lot of the other characters she has so much potential and possibilities. I also love she is not a shrinking violet. And most definitely not perfect.   Lol. Okay, I give you that. But I'm a horror fan so I ain't hating on her for being one, too.    Well like I said when this story started...those kind of backrooms DO exist even now. The workers even run to get the gamblers food orders so they can completely focus on losing all their money the game. I appreciated Randy clarifying that the other day when Mona was asking him about the machines. Of course, that said...I guess the question is if we will see the rest of the casino.    Same, but especially the bold.
    • One of the things that I found refreshing about Ryan's Hope when I discovered it on SoapNet was that for the most part, Delia was the only female character whose life seemed to revolve around getting and keeping a man, and it was clearly viewed as a character flaw. Because by the 2000s, I feel like fully half the female characters on the soaps at that time were obsessed with trying to snare some vacuous lunkhead. Up that to like 85% of them if we're talking Days Of Our Lives or Passions.
    • Yes, a few months before Wanda De Jesus, actually. Shortly after the Dobsons took over again, Rosa just magically reappeared as if she'd just been offscreen in the Capwell kitchen for the past four years. I just started watching this from the beginning again last year and I will agree with past posts that there really does seem to have been a reboot of sorts in January 1985. To me, it seemed like the four performers who really seemed to set the tone for the new wittier, more sophisticated direction were Nicolas Coster, Louise Sorel, Lane Davies and Judith McConnell.
    • You're right about the potential many of those stories could have had. The execution was more of an issue. Something never clicked for me in Angelique's present-day adventures - some of them I actually found very irritating due to the slanted writing and her voice being overshadowed. It took the Leviathan story for me to enjoy her in that timeline. I wish they had just left Peter/Vicki to the past and used that to inform who Vicki became when she returned, instead of bringing him back.
