The Last Typhoon

Shawn braves a typhoon to save his family after Philip sets said with Belle and Claire this week on DOOL. "Belle has a GPS tracking device with her, and Shawn realizes Philip is headed toward Australia," explains Brandon Beemer. "Shawn knows he has to catch them before they get out of range. He needs something fast." On cue, Steve arrives piloting a seaplane, swearing he's no longer under the DiMeras' control. "Shawn wants to trust him. He has no choice," points out Beemer. "He needs the seaplane and he needs Steve to fly it."

Shawn also needs Daddy Bo to tell him the truth, that Steve was sent to Tinda Lau to kil them (according to Hope and Kayla). When Steve returns, Bo confronts him about that. Steve responds by pulling a gun. "Shawn's standing right thre and believes Bo was right," notes Beemer. "But then Steve surprises them by taking the bullets out of the gun and handing it to Bo."

Elsewhere, Belle makes radio contact but it cuts out before she can reveal the name of the island where Philip is taking her, "Shawn's willing to risk everything, even the fact that Steve be there to kill him, to get to the woman and child he loves," says Beemer.

So Shawn, Bo and Steve take off in the seaplane, and Shawn spots Philip's boat with binoculars. Although a typhoon is approaching, Shawn insists on being dropped into the water on a raft to wait for Philip's boat to approach. "Shawn isn't thinking about himself" asserts Beemer. "He isn't thinking about rowing that boat in the middle of a typhoon. He's only thinking about getting onboard theat boat and taking it over. He's got to get to Belle and Claire before they get to Australia, because once Philip reaches land they'll be gone."
