Days:Dustin's Rumors 5/5

May 5 -

There have been rumors floating around for awhile now that Days was looking to cast Mickey, and even that the show has been trying to get John Clarke to return to the role he originated. Clarke left in 2004 under doctor's orders that he retire. A poster at radio-info.com is claiming that John Clarke is actually back taping scenes as Mickey as one of the big surprise returns for fans this summer! Thanks to neild for the heads up

On the Sami as twins speculation/rumor, some of you wrote in that you felt the word babies was used either as baby's or as to mean the new baby and Will. However the speculation just won't be killed. This week when Sami had her check-up, it was noted that the baby's heart was beating very fast. Paige wrote in to let me know this is a common occurrence in mother's carrying twins! (the fast heartbeat is actually two heartbeats)

Finally, the recent on-air mention of Kim Brady has churned up that old rumor that the show is looking to bring back Kim to reunite all the Brady kids.

Here is the post from radio-info.com:

I got a friend at TV GUIDE Channel says he saw John Clarke taping as Mickey Horton

the other day and thats supposed to be a huge summer surprise for "Days" fans.

Now this Mickey Horton guy is old as dust so if that's what they call a big surprise

then maybe you can see why they're getting the ax.

Tony and Anna turns out to be E.J.'s real parents and they got "Bola" back on the

writing staff ("Bola" being Bin Laden's real life Celeste) which aint fair since Bola is

Steve Wyman's little love squeeze while their best writers like Peter Brash and Sofia

Landon Greier they put on the welfare dole without so much as a thank you.

I personally loved the show best when Brash and Cwilky were HWs but Langan and

Higley rotted that out quick. Eh, I give Reilly his respect, he produced ratings for longer

than anybody else did since Bill Bell, but this Sheffer guy needs to be sent pack'n quick

for Oakdale. I don't see why they didn't just put Peter Brash or Beth Mstein in HW gear

and call it a day. Honestly, I don't have a lot of sympathy for Corday's ship and being

that he's on NBC he's as good as gone. That network has never liked soap operas

and never supported the genre.

Old as dust or not, I'd love to see John Clarke again. But no, it won't fix the ratings. Why on earth would they expect any one character's return to do that; among other inanities with that logic, the viewership is just too fractured.

Thanks for posting!

I would rather have them wait until Reid were to pass away instead of doing while she still is alive no matter what condition she is in currently. Remeber there has been no confirmation from any official source were her health is at.

I am on the fence about the twin rumor. It is a copout but I can't really bash it for some reason.

I would love for Clarke to return. The Mickey issue needs to be resolved. However, I don't see why Corday would surprise us with that when bigger impact characters have returned and it's been leaked every single time. Perhaps word of this hasn't come out yet or something. I do think the Horton story this summer is something to do with Alice passing or getting ill so Mickey should be there and word of him being there is good IMO.

I would gladly take Kim back too but I would also want Shane too so maybe it's better to leave that alone for now.

As for [!@#$%^&*], I doubt the show would bring her back when her first stint there was cut short because of the media firestorm. I don't see her returning. I would love for them to bring SLG and Brash back. They are missed on the writing team IMO.

Not officially it hasn't. There's been nothing in any of the soap mags and no official statement from Corday. I've only seen various websites lifting from the source of the rumor.

    • I'm fighting for my life on another board for my husband Brandon and I'll do it here too lmao
    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
    • You've been seeing him all along. You just didn't know it was him, I guess.

    • Where to for Dana? She's pissed off the Duprees (most of the cast), alienated her daughter and will she be welcomed by the Have Nots at the diner? Maybe she can befriend Ashley and Derek and liven up their story.
    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
