Members cal3
I understand today was PC's last episode. Asa good and bad has contributed so much to the show. He will be missed.
Members Q Steph
Today was his last show? He should've gotten a better setting but at least he was with the Buchanan's.
Members King
Did he die? Because he's come and gone 39393 times. He'll be back if the character and the actor are alive. I really haven't been following SON/soaps closely lately so I have no idea.
Members ATWTCarOn4Ever
Luckily I was watching some parts of OLTL today and I saw like 2 of his scenes. I kinda teared up as I watched him with Renee, Nora, and Clint at the Buchanan residence. Such an icon. I'll always remember when I first saw the cantankerous bastard on screen during the whole Todd versus Max over Blair thing. So full of strenght and life then and to see him now was kinda saddening. But I'm glad he was at least a major part of this episode. I forget how they explained his leaving since I was watching ATWT also. Is he moving to another country with Renee? Members Scotty
There will be no explanation on screen concerning Asa's departure. Phil Carey's contract expired before they could film exit scenes for him. I'm not entirely sure that today was for sure his last airdate though. It probably was, but I'm not completely convinced he won't pop up once or twice more before he leaves. OLTL still hopes he will reconsider, but Phil Carey has made it quite clear that he will not work without a contract. Carey turns 82 on July 15th, the same day as the OLTL's 39th anniversary. He battled lung cancer last year, and took a medical leave from the show while undergoing chemo.
Members Q Steph
They didn't explain his absence. His last scene was with Natalie. She said she wanted to work for Buchanan Enterprises and they hugged. That was it.
Members alwaysAMC
He got the Julia Barr treatment. No contract - no recurring - no goodbyes - he just randomly goes.
Members Scotty
Well, almost...he was offered recurring, however he said he refuses to work without a contract.
Members alwaysAMC
Yeah - that is exactly what happened to Julia Barr. After she rejected recurring, she got sh!t on with no goodbyes. Pretty much the same situation as Phil.
Members Scotty
It's just a damn shame how ABC Daytime treats their veterans. After all, look at all they have done for their respective soaps over the years.
