Members Sweet_VeeVee24
Um...why would it be funny reading about a six year old bringing crack to school? That' to me isn't even a chuckle. It's sad to read how children are taken away from families because parents don't want to have the responsibility to be parents to their children; to still want to live their lives as if they never existed. I am very blessed that my grandmother took care of me; my mom was the same way...Had me too young, wanted to continue to live her life the ways she did; full of drugs and no responsibility of being a parent to me. Reading things like this always makes me sad for the child, because they are the ones that are hurt in the process of what their parents do. Members Sweet_VeeVee24
There are sooo many folks that actually want to care for a child; have a child, etc, but we are constantly reading about women who have children but could care less about them;
Members SpiritualJunkie
The mother's 20? So she must have only been 14 when she had that kid... It's unfortunate that becoming a parent doesn't necessarily make one a REAL parent. That boy should have been in the care of a more responsible adult a looong time ago. Members Sweet_VeeVee24
That's true..being that young, and having parents of a young child (the mother) like that is so disheartening and sad.

Members Scotty
This really ties in with something we were discussing in my Middle Grades Education class a few weeks ago. The stat the professor threw out at us was that girls under the age of 15 in the U.S. were 15 times more likely to have a baby than those in the world's other developed nations.
