Members danthig Posted March 6, 2007 Members Share Posted March 6, 2007 For all the posters on the board I want to start a fake soap opera articles post.For those that are a little creative can also make fake magazine covers to go along with it.Here's my article for starters: NBC gives Passions a reprieve from Cancellation: NBC Daytime executives give the recently canceled soap Passions a reprieve to continue airing with a unprecedented renewal for 4 years instead of the yearly renewals they used to get.With the renewal it keeps the show on the air through July 2011.As one of the incentives of the renewal Passions creator and headwriter James E. Reilly will be replaced promptly with new headwriting team Bridget and Jerome Dobson.The Dobsons will be bringing a new dimension to Passions and will put toward an effort to bring back viewers and help bring in new viewers.The 4yr renewal is apart of an effort for the Dobsons to help raise the ratings as part of a vote of confidence from NBC.A New Executive producer will also be installed as well by the name of Linda Gottlieb is also apart of the renewal deal.As apart of the new deal the 4th hour that was going to be added to the Today has been scrapped do to viewer outcry and viewer lack of interest for 4 hrs of the Today show. Members danthig Posted March 6, 2007 Author Members Share Posted March 6, 2007 Another Fake Article: DAYS OF OUR LIVES RENEWED FOR 4 MORE YEARS: Fans of DAYS should be pleased to know that their soap has been renewed through 2013.Sony Pictures which produces DAYS has reached an agreement with NBC to continue to air the show until 2013.After it's current option expires in 2009,the new contract kicks in and won't expire until 2013. It was done before with Lauren Koslow (Kate, Days) and Joe Mascolo (ex-Massimo, B&B, ex-Stefano, Days), although it turned out to be a one-sided deal in the end. This time around, it's tit-for-tat from the very beginning. In a shocking move, CBS's "The Bold & The Beautiful" and NBC's "Days of Our Lives" are swapping actors for the longterm. Eileen Davidson will be returning to her 'Days' role as the mega-popular Kristen Blake DiMera in May as Days lends Josh Taylor (Roman) to B&B in a very interesting new role. Davidson was recently fired from Y&R, and quickly hired by its sister show to bring her 'Restless' character to Los Angeles. For story-related purposes, her run on B&B was always intended to be a short one. On the other hand, B&B is said to have "hugs plans" for Josh Taylor. Says B&B honcho Brad Bell: "We're ecstatic! We haven't had a coup like this since Ronn Moss. We tried getting Rudy (Boesch) of 'Survivor' fame to come on and play himself in a cameo, but schedules were conflicting. We lucked out and got Josh Taylor. He'll have a steamy affair with Stephanie." For a photo of the real Rudy Boesch, see photo below. Meanwhile, Ken Corday (executive producer, Days) and Hogan Sheffer (headwriter) are thrilled to have Davidson back in Salem. "We've waited a long time for this and we're thrilled," says Ken Corday. "But we have to keep tight-lipped about how her story kicks off." Sheffer isn't quite as quiet, though. "Kristen will begin appearing to Marlena in dreams," says the scribe. "Eventually, those dreams turn into nightmares. As you may expect, the nightmares become reality. This will be a wild ride, like something straight out of 'Hostel.' Members Mason Posted March 6, 2007 Members Share Posted March 6, 2007 Conboy damn near destroyed GL, along with his pal Ellen The Hack Weston. The budget problems we have today are definitely partially his fault as he burned the show's budget on ridiculous sets like the damn baseball field and hall of mirrors. Words cannot even begin to describe how much I hated GL when he was in charge. August 2003 - May 2004 was the only period of GL since I started watching in 1998 that I would not watch the show.
