Members bellcurve
http://trivialtv.blogspot.com/2007/02/fresh-squeezed.html Here's a link to a blog regarding NBC/Universal acquiring the domain freshsqueezed.tv . An anonomous source(probably someone who works at a local affiliate) speculated that NBC wil either put the show in syndication or replace DAYS with it sometime before the Olympics in 2008, so the show premieres in the fall. If you ask me, I think NBC will want to put this show on the lineup as soon as possible. Knowing the show has already been developed(with a specific internet domain name registered), it's hard to imagine why NBC would sit on this. And it's interesting that they are developing this show "In Secret," which leads me to believe they don't want to piss off DAYS fans or have affiliates running out trying to replace DAYS with something syndicated, because its already in the can. Wouldn't surprise me if NBC tried to buy out DAYS's contract and lets it go.
Members KLN
I'm wondering the same thing, bell. If it's network, Days is toast. For sure. No question about it.
Members Mr. Brightside
F_CK NBC, they don't deserve DAYS. I think CBS Corp. just should pick it up and they could air it on The CW during the day and then at 7:00 during the weeknights right before their primetime lineup. It could prove to be a strong lead-in for shows like 7th Heaven, Smallville/Supernatural (The Jensen/Eric Brady connection), Gilmore Girls & co. Gilmore Girls could even discuss a Days related storyline like they did when the show first began and Lorelai was talking about how Lucky's hair is so much longer when he returned from the dead on GH. If done right, The CW could air a number of CBS daytime promos during DAYS. They could first air it at 4pm whenever the CBS lineup is done. If SOAPnet's "General Hospital: Night Shift" works out, they could even develop a vehicle around for DAYS, like what another poster said "Nights of our Lives" and it would get more ratings since it is not cable. Members KLN
The news is a reality soap opera. Honestly. The news is a 'continuing drama' that the networks get to produce for FREE. No actors to pay, no huge sets to build. Just two anchors, sitting in front of a camera, reporting the continuing drama. "TODAY! Anna Nicole has died... who is the father of her child? Who will get the money? Was it murder?! Tune in tomorrow! Meanwhile, a deadly tsunami is headed towards the coast of Japan... will it strike? How many will die? Stay tuned! Sylvia Browne -- psychic, or quack? Tune in tomorrow as her lies are exposed for the world to see! THIS WEEK, only on... THE NEWS." Seriously. The news is its own reality soap opera. The networks see it as the new form of 'entertainment,' and it costs pocket change to produce. It's sad, but true.
Members JER Soaps Fan
We're not going to let those jerks have their way. Attention, EVERYONE: Tell EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS. NBC will NOT have this dirty little secret and try to replace "Days." We will MAKE. THEM. PAY!!!@#$@#%@#%@#%@#%%^$%^
Members KLN
Are they being secretive about this so that Corday has no TIME to make a deal with another network?! They don't want Days, but they don't want another network to have it an flourish, either. They don't want to look like idiots, so they're keeping it on the downlow. ASSHOLES! Members KLN
It also works to NBC's advantage to keep this on the downlow because they'll be breaking contract with Days in order to do so. Heartless scabs!!
Members Mason
Everyone at NBC is an evil b!tch. Hopefully the network goes bankrupt sometime soon and they're all out on their asses (hey, I can dream).
