New Blog Soap Coming Soon

I did want to let you know that I will soon be starting a new Soap on my blog. I have wanted to do it for a long time, but didn't have the time. I am not sure if I do now but going to go for it. I am putting some final touches on it now.

The title will be From These Roots, but has nothing to do with the former soap. I just love the name and it fits with my tagline and what I would envision the theme song to be (Flying Without Wings). The tag line is:

“Little one, I wish two things. To give you roots, and give you wings.”

I can give you roots;

I can give you wings;

But only you can know when to fly.

Anyway it is not based on one show like many of the other blogs, but will be based on several shows (including SFT, Days, AMC, AW, GH, GL, ATWT, and a few more), taking them back to their beginnings and starting all over. For instance, Erica Kane will be in there, but she will be 17 years old. Some of the characters will be combined together from various shows. Some will be easy to figure out, some may be a little harder. For instance say Mona Kane from All My Children will be in there but she will be a combination of 5 characters from soap opera history. The stories will follow a basic pattern of what happened to them on their soaps, but with my new take on them. Some characters will be expanded. For instance, Bobby Martin (now called Bobby Gardner) from All My Children will not go into the attic and disappear. He will get his own story for now.

The cast is a pretty big one, but this is my blog, and I want to have a wide variety to work with. I have all my starting characters in place, just working on some casting, and then I will be ready to start hopefully by a week from Monday.

So far the cast includes: Jed Allan, Julia Barr, Ashley Benson, Justin Deas, Jerry Douglas, Jennifer Ferrin, Kelli Giddish, Van Hansis, Jon Hensley, Laura Innes, Judi Evans Luciano, Joshua Morrow, Kate Mulgrew, Michael O'Leary, Ashley Peldon, Shawn Pyfrom, Jack Scalia, Jesse Soffer, and David Tom

I hope that once I get started, that all of you will visit, and let me know what you think.

I'm not usually interested in this kind of thing (FanFic! Slash! Auuuugh! Spare me!), but given SteveFrame's knowledge of soap history this could be quite engaging. I look forward to it.

I am still working on things, and trying to get the casting completely in order. I am still looking for a debut next week of the first episode, but I will keep you posted on that.

Please check out the blog. The logo is designed, and the site is looking good. Found out how to add the cast list on the screen for all to see and keep up with. I have been adding family descriptions for you. That will help you get acquainted with the families, and each has a little description about them, and some insights into possible upcoming stories.

The premiere date is set for November 6. I hope all will tune in and let me know what you think.

I have placed a Character Guide up. You can view it at: http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/index.p...;showentry=2068

Remember I said the cast would be larger than normal. I did the character guide to help readers get acquainted with the characters better. The guide will always be available on the blog. Just go to the Categories section and click Character Guide.

Also the cast list is posted there on the right side too.

I am enjoying reading your posts here, and the comments that you have made on the blog. Keep it up.

Episode 1 was great Steve.

I love how you have devoted a lot of time and effort into this.

Thanks Andy. I appreciate that alot. I hope you continue to enjoy. The young Erica shows up a little bit tomorrow - just a little touch of her right now.
