August 14, 200916 yr Member I'm almost at the end of the fourth season and I agree that the season is good. It had a problem at the very beginning, but it is back to being good.
September 2, 200916 yr Member Do you guys remember the joke so vile that Lily disappeared for 4 weeks? Here's the joke and the punchline: What's the difference between peanut butter and jam? you can't peanut butter your dick up someone's ass I wasn't as dirty as I thought it would be, I had a more disgusting pun in mind.
January 22, 201115 yr Member HIMYM is one of my favorite comedies. Season 5 was off but I'm loving this season! I also love all the characters-find each enjoyable in their own ways. Cast is fantastic
January 23, 201115 yr Member Can i just say that "Bad News" was a phenominally good episode, and man, what a twist!
January 23, 201115 yr Member Bad News and also Last Words were such good episodes. Thought Jason Segel did such a good job with the material Edited January 23, 201115 yr by Laurie
January 26, 201115 yr Author Administrator Bad News and also Last Words were such good episodes. Thought Jason Segel did such a good job with the material I agree. I loved these emotional episodes. And the ending of "Bad News" was so sad - it caught me off guard. And then Marshall's rant after hearing his dad's pocket dialing.
March 1, 201213 yr Member I must say this season has been quite good so far. The last few seasons not so much, but this one is okay.
May 15, 201312 yr Member We FINALLY met the mom! Damn I missed it! I've been really bad at catching the show this season
May 15, 201312 yr Member Well, it's more like we finally saw the mother. I loved it. I wish they would have moved the story along a little more. I'm way over the Ted mooning over Robin thing.
May 15, 201312 yr Author Administrator We FINALLY met the mom! I'm glad they went with an unknown actress. I'm way over the Ted mooning over Robin thing. Ted/Robin have always been a theme since the very first episode so I don't mind that he's still questioning things. I agree with this: http://www.avclub.com/articles/something-new,97540/ From where I sit, there’s no call to get angry and throw things because Ted and Robin had a moment last week. Here’s why. This show started with Ted and Robin. It’s not going to reach its titular moment, much less its final season endgame, without returning to Ted and Robin. Not only do I not mind this fact, but I’m happy to see it. Ted’s search for true love has become especially poignant this year. Robin’s engagement and impending marriage have raised for him an unavoidable question: Was she here all along? That’s a question that many of us have wondered when our solitude becomes unbearable. We rehearse the breakups and wonder if we were premature in deciding that someone we can’t quite seem to shake wasn’t the person to promise to love forever. May 15, 201312 yr Member It's been SIX bleepin' years since they broke up. They've been "friends", they've been fuckbuddies, they've been "not friends" since. Thematically, we deal with this every time Ted gets close to someone. I understand lingering feelings---I'm a Carjacker after all. But there's nothing that's convinced me in eight years that Robin was ever as emotionally invested in Ted as he is in her. And that imbalance drives me insane. I don't want Ted wasting his time on that 'ho, and it's frustrating to be going over and over and over this same territory when it's been perfectly clear since episode one Robin was not the mother. I don't care for Robin and Barney either, but that's another thing all together. And rumors that TPTB are going to spend a huge chunk of time next season (I've read the phrase "longest weekend wedding ever" for example) still dealing with Ted/Robin just make me cringe. There's just a point when there's no milk left in a herd of cows. Wheeeoohhheeewwww....I really needed to get that off my chest. I'd forgotten what it was like to vent.
May 16, 201312 yr Member I had a feeling they were going to yank our chain with this and I think spending what sounds like a majority of the season telling what happens in the 56 hours leading up to Barney/Robin's wedding is a major mistake.
January 28, 201412 yr Member While I still think this "wedding weekend season" was a mistake, and more miss than hit episodes, I will admit, I have loved the last two episodes especially. Learning some of the mother's backstory last night was long overdue. I still wish we'd seen more of their relationship play out over the season, but ultimately, nothing was really going to satisfy me given one season of episodes. I will really miss this show once it wraps up. I think it's one of the most unique shows I've watched. I just read an article with the creators where they credited their slow start with being able to keep the show rooted in their vision.
April 1, 201411 yr Member Arguably the worst series finale ever. Bizarrely downbeat and cold, it kind of crapped all over it's own history with Barney dropping back to his old, hollow ways and Robin becoming MIA as she globetrots the world. And Ted going back to that skunt because he's loved her all along and that's really the point of his story to his kids? Major Bummer.
