  3. Oof, GTL in his very near future?
  4. Tom was certainly tamed to the point of zzzzzz in the late eighties/early nineties. He was practically a new age Joe Martin in terms of being an upstanding Pine Valley male with zero controversy and no edge. I had no problem with this, but as we all know, in the world of Soap, that is practically a death sentence for a leading man. I will never forget religious man Tom telling Livia, I think, that God will never give us more than we can bear. That was a sentiment I was freshly familiar to in church and it really stuck to me coming from Tom.

  7. No problem! I wish we could have seen more of Viki's extended family. I probably would have enjoyed her aunt Gwendolyn.
  8. Powell III was the grandson of Victor's brother, Powell Sr. Powell II was Viki's first cousin. She asks Powell about him, referring to him as her California cousin, when Powell first comes to Llanview.
  9. It wasn't some dramatic, tearful confession, but she did say, "I killed your father, Victor Lord" and Viki just brushed her off. Robin has always maintained that Dorian did it and I wondered if this was a little gift to her from RC that could easily be worked around... Just as easily as Viki dismissed the claim.
  10. Robin was entirely responsible for Dorian becoming the glamourpuss. It was her suggestion that for a wealthy woman, Dorian didn't dress particularly well and the creative team took her lead and gave the character all of the flashy threads. It's my theory that while at AMC, Robin saw what fun they were having with the Erica character, who she first realized on AW as Rachel, and as she has said, she basically took her Rachel and aged her now under the auspices of wealth for her portrayal of Dorian. 11. I believe Robin's exact words quoting Joe were, "It didn't happen", and she countered that she SAW it happen. She said in another interview that she watched at the time and she thinks she would have played the scene a little differently than Nancy Pinkerton (would love to know exactly what she meant by that as I never saw the original scene). But yeah, she has said that the root of Dorian's neuroses as she played her came from the guilt of letting Victor suffer and soon die. She equated it to the scene from Little Foxes.
  12. That window of an era was fascinating to me. I wish it had lasted six or seven years rather than two or three.
  13. "You remind me of another actress, I can't put my finger on it." "Some people tell me I look like a plain Julia Roberts."
  14. I think a common misconception is that Victor died on the spot when Dorian withheld his meds and not until I read the synopsis that Carl so kindly posted did I realize he died later at the hospital. I also didn't realize that Ethel had been on the scene back then and wasn't just a retconned character that we met in the nineties.
  15. And even when Dorian didn't rush to get Victor's medication as originally played out on screen, is that really considered murder? His attack did irreparable damage to his body and he later died at the hospital, but I just wonder if Dorian's act of omission would legally be considered murder. I guess if she was a doctor it could be. But then again, I think she had lost her license at that point so there may have been some loopholes?
  16. What a great promo. It's funny how truly soapy the soaps were at times, like how parodies are not atawl fah from the truth. That announcer always reminds me of Olan Soule.
  17. Almost spit out my coffee, guess what I'm watching on DVD right now?? Is Bree still nursing?
  18. Awww, marceline, don't be scurred. Who is the lead girl? She looks like a mix between Natalie Portman and Alyssa Milano.

  21. Yeah, you can see DG in the trailer, he's one of the guys congratulating TP's character. I posted about this movie when I saw the casting notice a few months back, I don't remember which thread that was in.
  22. That is a GORGEOUS still of Susan! That is Facebook banner photo worthy.
