I've still got my DVDs but I converted them to digital so they're just being stored, basically. Although a weird thing happened & I cannot find CarJack so I am sans it/them. Really? The last year? I began to be disenchanted when they (1) got rid of Scott Holroyd, (2) when they drastically foreshortened the umbrella story & killed off Rose, (3) Goutman threw Martha under the bus, (4) Goutman said he knew what was best for the show & he did not want or need to hear from fans.

And, Stuart is 180° polar opposite, never would you meet a sweeter, nicer man!!! David Canary had a dream gig!!!

Well, if you aren't sure what your own reasons are, at least tell me what you think of my reasons. 1. 90 minute show 2. Affiliates hated 90 minute show & blamed AW moving from her to DAYS as their favorite NBC soap. (Prior AW was the pet/golden child of the affiliates.) 3. Way too many changes in EP/HW. 4. NBC awful at promoting their soaps. 5. Internecine warfare between NBC & P&G. 5. NBC tried to kill the show. 6. NBC tried to get rid of Vicky Wyndham. 6. P&G was too cheap to get really good EP/HW.

Beth C reminds me of Laura Wright, both are cheerleaders for themselves, their whole show & most of the other people in the show, as well as being really nice people IRL & much more than just competent as actresses. Everyone should see her in the L&O:SVU she did with Treat Williams.

It seems to me there are basically 2 lines of reasoning as to why the show ultimately was cancelled. 1. What I think: That the blame rests on NBC for causing the lock-out & change of personnel away from the original Dream Team. 2. What some of you think: That the blame rests on the Dobsons for not making the better choices when they finally got their soap back.

Sorry but I don't see that at all. Don't get me wrong. I completely get that Carolyn the gorilla, her mate Richard & her handler Sam did not work as its in-joke referential nod to the Cullitons & to Samuel D. Ratcliffe AND that it also did not work as a bit of nostalgia to AW comedic high jinks & Felicia-Cass-Wally 80s show. So, it did NOT work AT ALL, agreed. But what does it have to do with the 90 minute show trainwreck & too many changes of EP & HW, etc.? Trying to guess what you mean I can only come up with its being an example of bad decision-making at the top. Is that what you mean?

Wow, a month already! At first I thought their launch date was odd but now I think putting themselves smack dab in Black History Month was probably an inspired idea & before that they had the last week of February sweeps, so all in all, I don't think there's fault there.

Javi is not a very interesting character to me. Leo I hate & not in a good soapy way. Both Alex & Stephanie are waste of time characters to me. So, the foursome you're listing is so bottom of the barrel .... However, looking for any possible good, it does make it easier to multitask. LOL

I agree with this 99.5%!!!I actually thought the actress took bad material & played it rather deftly.

Someone pointed out to me yesterday that I was wrong saying that she's played Carly for 18 years, when it's 19!

I love Samuel D. Ratcliffe. I believe he was known for some of AW's comedic writing. And, Carolyn Culliton told me in a tweet last year that it was Sam & Gary Tomlin with their heads together in the Writer's Room that they conceived of the idea for Carolyn the gorilla & then went on to develop it & write it.

Last night I was in a Spaces on Twi/X & they said they'd been in the middle of a podcast when the article broke & they had to stop the podcast & restart later. People are hanging on this show's "news" like they're waiting on important family news.
