  1. Elsewhere I've just posted an article that I wrote because March 27th is this show's anniversary of premiere date & I grabbed the YouTube video of what I call the Best Catfight to ever exist, written by Michelle Val Jean so I thought to post it here, too.
  2. Most sounds lovely & fabulous & interesting, etc. but Iris, hmm. not sure, sorry. LOL!!
  3. This provokes many thoughts in me. WHAT? NotEmily has an Emmy?!!!! is the first. Do we really want to talk in terms of such low bars? is the second. Third & last, No, sorry to me at least Satra is not better, although I can see my way to equally deriding both if it helps.
  4. Here is today's daily Jarly video, a beautiful couple edit by Ellie aka JarlyFan that you may find yourself thinking about later! Huge kudos to Ellie/JarlyFan!
  5. Basically I liked Fletcher too, although didn't really like the baby Meg story. Liked Fletcher's relationship with Alex. Honestly I am still reeling over reading Sonia Satra & Emmy in the same sentence!
  6. I think something is wrong. But about Kristina & which car, the show very carefully & clearly let us know that Ric was parked in Ava's spot. That Kristina damaged the brakes in Ric's car rather than Ava's was a set-up, plain & simple. To me the most interesting thing about this, well besides Ava saying something really awful to set off Kristina, but back to my point, it's not that she wigged out or even that she knew how to do this to a car, but that she regretted it & wanted to undo it. That, I did not expect.
  7. So, today is the Endiversary of the little short-lived ABC half hour soap, THE CITY, which ran from the end of LOVING to March 28th, 1997. They tried to do new & different things. They did not have traditional multigenerational families. They experimented with camera work & editing. All of them lived in SoHo in one building. They were survivors of the murders that had happened in Corinth. So to all who celebrate Sydney Chase Day I add my greetings! Looked this up in Wesley Hyatt's Daytime Encyclopedia, the show doesn't even have its own entry. You can find it 2 places. In the book's Introduction, page xviii, one sentence, paragraph 2. All it says is that when ABC affiliates were about to drop LOVING they revamped into The City but it fared no better. Then, in the LOVING entry that show is pages 271-274. The last 2 paragraphs finally they mention it but say as the lowest-rated soap it is canceled. This to me, was infuriating.
  8. I have that in an edit I did in case it's something you want to keep, not long, about 5 minutes. They previously used to great effect another flashback of them, that young, slow dancing.
  9. What is obvious is that Lucas is there, sometimes at least. The others are never there except for now with this Philip.
  10. That does not mean that we don't mock them. Because we do.

  12. I think Liz would add Head Nurse to wife and mother! I must admit that I haven't enjoyed Liz in many years but now I am!!! And, it's because of L&L2 Reboot. It is working. It is romantic. She even makes that mop of hair work, when she plays with his hair. I've said ad nauseum that you can tell they're invested in this pairing because they're spending a small fortune on digitizing these old flashbacks but I say it because it's true.
  13. Today's daily Jarly video is a "double your pleasure" day, the last 24 seconds of a Friday show, followed by another short but important scene the following Monday. https://www.instagram.com/p/DHg07e_pXLs/ 3-21-25 Friday "Ultimatum" https://www.instagram.com/p/DHoRcv2J37h/ 3-24-25 Monday "A Promise"
  14. Oh, no, I wasn't clear. His being reticent, calm, only retweeting BEFORE this petition stuff, that would help him get hired again. NOT THIS.
  15. Possibly important to remember that Marland was Pete's only protege. The writing legacy goes like this: Irna to Pete, Pete to Douglas, Douglas to Mulcahey. Sadly, there it ends. Also, Irna/Pete was not like Irna & Agnes or either like Irna to Bill Bell. Irna was tasked with teaching how to write a soap by P&G, Pete did not revere her like her more real usual proteges. One more thing, agree to disagree about dialog by Pete at AW. Me, I very much liked his words.
  16. According to Ellen Hlly he was part of the problem, at OLTL with specific reference to racism. Not as bad as Paul. If you watch or remember The Tomorrow Show 1975 on Soaps. Joe was on it. Tom Snyder seems to have arranged the whole thing between him & Joe. They even taped at the studio where Joe was then EP. (The Doctors, I believe.)
  17. What he was doing was to try to keep a decent reputation. After all he does want to work again. Any & every campaign there MUST be a petition & the only petitions worth anything at all ARE change dot org ones. So, even as you know they NOT effective, it's more or less a rule that you have one. Sounds silly, right? That's because it is. When I ran our very successful one for Beverlee I even got this amazing email from the President of NATAS (Emmys). Not that we got what we wanted. That was never going to happen. They do not give Posrhumous Emmys. It's their policy.
  18. VI doesn't like it when people refer to his romantic entanglement with her. When Digest covered their story along with some similar, VI pitched a fit - and he was quite serious!!! Invoked their children & what would they think if they read this some day. I seem to have misplaced my tongue-in-cheek emoji. Oh my. I wasn't doubting you. i simply had not thought about it. 👏👏👏👏 Best line I've read today!!!
  19. Yes, some are that - but not all. I have already, today, posted an older without any current context to the other thread. I don't see a problem. I mean now, all clarified, etc. IOw, seems to be fixed.
  20. Bringing this over from AMC A Tribute: 2 hours ago, Contessa Donatella said: I will say it was a dumb idea to get Morgan for such a short contract. Sure it may have worked for Rosemary Prinz when AMC started, but Though I thought the biggest mistake The City made early on was the Masquerader (I think??) serial killer storyline--just because Loving's ratings had improved during their storyline which had JUST finished it felt like. But I'll save the rest for the Loving folder (I'm game for a party though--funny it both seems far more recent and somehow even longer ago that The City finished.) This is Eric ⬆️
  21. I did not know VI was thus afflicted. This makes me sad.
  22. JC's Alice, as a doctor was formidable, but what you're saying here, nope, never happen.
