  1. OMG, AMC lost 22! Whoa. Sounds like the Wild West.
  2. I cannot remember it. At all. So I know I blanked it out. So I am working up to re-watch it. Meanwhile, I am so saddened by NF's death. She was so good & she didn't always have writing that was as good as it should have been. But she was fully Cecile even if she was working with sorta "shite". In the beginning of the clip I posted betw her & Rachel, the way she spits out each word is so so sharp, good, etc. I never realized she was one of the Taras! And, her Phil, Nick Benedict just died, what, 3 weeks ago. Dadgum. In Kim Wells AW group https://www.facebook.com/groups/340323040018309 she has quickly made more than 25 Cecile clips from her private collection of AW videos. I would suggest that this is the current mother lode.
  3. What's that about? What happened?
  4. 🤔🙄😉 I see. Leo is not worthy. But, Dimitri thinks he is. It's not his fault. He knows almost nothing about the guy. This is one of those moments when you wish you could talk to the character for twenty minutes over a latte.
  5. And, it never met their probably totally unrealistic expectations. In my opinion, the NBC execs at the time were not very knowledgeable about soaps. They simply thought Jim Reilly was a storytelling genius & they thought he would bring high ratings from the get-go rather than having to grow an audience. And, genius notwithstanding, soaps have to grow their audience.
  6. It's unfortunate that it was not tried for a period of time.
  7. You don't think NBC gave Passions a chance? It was on NBC for 8 years and consistently low rating. Even in the key demo it ranked low with a few good weeks thrughout its run where it was in the middle of the pack. While it did see some small growth in viewership the first few years, like all other soaps numbers were eroding and with each year less and less eyes on the screen. Goodness, SB won Best Show Emmys 3 times & NBC only carried it for 9 years. I definitely think 8 years was reasonable for PSSN. I'm not sure if they promoted it well & I'm not sure they really appreciated the viewers they had ... but you could say that about NBC & any soap they ever had!
  8. At least the blasted Red Swan turned out to have an important meaning! There was a hidden compartment & inside it was the proof that Paulina was Mac's daughter. All along I thought it was going to be a piece of meaningless papier-mâché!
  9. Hmm, that must have been on one of my breaks from DAYS. Tell me about it!!
  10. I completely agree. However, he should have just clued Gwen in & asked her to participate. I am SURE she would have!
  11. If you never saw the murder of Frankie Frame on AW, now you can. https://www.facebook.com/shallotpeel/videos/203053586099426
  12. Peter Porte really is being wasted, literally in every way. Unlike y'all I had no problem with that as it was just reciprocal sex. Dimitri doesn't know Leo like we know him & he has a stupid crush. We've all had stupid crushes in our time, haven't we? Recently I ran into a few FB people who say they are fans of the show but they think that it should've gone off the air at NBC & never begun to stream & be left with its "dignity" whatever the heck that is supposed to mean about a soap! The other thing they think is that it is obscene to be intimating oral pleasure between sexual partners. One of them was a gay male with a partner & I asked him what in the world fans must have thought the gay couples were doing. He didn't reply instead going off on a rant about how badly the gay couples are written & I agree. So, people are actually clutching their pearls. And non-fans are calling themselves fans! Me, with last week being so good I am just more frustrated than ever with the inconsistency. If the show is good it's great. If the show is not good, it is appalling. When I had a whole week of medical tests, I got behind on viewing & I am having a hard time catching up because I have begun to dread watching the show. Uh-oh. We're having a remote. HA! A motel room with a hall. Leo is in Iceland. It's ridiculous. I don't even like Gwen but I hate what Leo is doing to his supposed bestie.
  13. Well, DAYS had the reputation as the rape soap long before RC came along. And, BITD NBC pressured their soaps to not only include but to highlight violence against women. Some habits are hard to break. Still misogyny, rapemance, gay stereotyping, these are all fair criticisms of his Writing philosophy. And, also the man has no boundaries. If something in a story CAN go too far, with Ron it will.
  14. I have never understood how Irene Dailey won a Best Actress Emmy. To me the role of Aunt Liz Matthews was always a Supporting Character. 1979.
  15. It's probably also to do with music rights; the series probably has not been looked at in years, and I would rather they take their time to get it right than provide a rush-job. What I had heard was that it is specifically music rights holding up the streaming of KL. https://tvline.com/news/nancy-frangione-dead-cause-of-death-another-world-cecile-depoulignac-obituary-1235032271/ also up on MSN
  16. The only thing I thought was good from today was the last second - Susan Banks & we don't even know if she's a hallucination.
  17. What's happening with KL? And just devastating David Jacobs RIP.
  18. Yeah. I don't recall it either. Darn.
  19. AW 11.1 with a 31 share at 207 stations, what a fine time to be Pete Lemay, well, for a little while longer anyway. Although Patrick Mulcahey told me he really did not understand how Pete managed not to kill Paul Rauch. And Pete did say that Paul would just keep on arguing even though you had agreed with him already. But apparently there was only one thing he remained bitter about & it wasn't Paul's doing, it was all P&G. For some reason he & Paul seemed to have a kind of rapprochement.
  20. Such a GREAT picture of her.
  21. Good to hear. Although if you ever would want to be wrong, having someone alive, yeah. @Wendy Thank you for finding the memorial page.
