Sorry lol I do think RH is a talented guy and I do know he has fans so he doesn't fit this thread. I just didn't like the character or his stories. There. That point is where I sit. I love Ric Hearst as an actor but Ric the character was creepy.

The last time Kin pulled his Twitter stunt I said it was equivalent to SoapDish where the HW takes the star to the mall in NJ. Kin was the star acting on his own without the HW & SoapTwitter was the mall in NJ.

September is a big month as far as soap history goes but today, Sept. 27th is humongous! 4 soaps had their debuts. Morning Star, NBC 11 Eastern, Ted Corday, early color, an experiment in a morning block, ran 10 months Paradise Bay, NBC 11:30 Eastern, Ted Corday, early color & contemporary music, same experiment, also 10 months. PB maintained 100% of MS lead-in. (They were followed by successful game show, Jeopardy!) The Nurses, ABC, same setting & plot & fictional hospital & Supv. Nurse as a CBS primetime show that ran 3 yrs. , ran 9 months Never Too Young, ABC, 1st soap specifically marketed to youth, 4 Eastern, wall to wall contemporary music, some say it was a rip-off of the movie Beach Blanket Bingo. I've only seen the pilot/premiere but it is strangely appealing. Unusual credits. Also it is said that it paved the way for LIAMST and Y&R. Dark Shadows came on at 4 as soon as it crashed & burnt.

@carolineg As soon as I saw you post Rafe I started laughing & I haven't stopped. It's so true. Galen is a nice guy, hard worker, good work ethic, journeyman actor, great looking and just nothing works for his character. For months he was stuck with a dadgummed stuffed bear as a scene partner!

Given his overall reputation & given that it seems to me that he was a sensitive gay man who was out when very few people were & part of a committed couple I figure he was much more enlightened than his statement might lead us to believe & that he simply misspoke. Sometimes our words are not our friends.

Hmm, fan-based conspiracy ... now that is a new way to put it as far as I know. Since when is garden variety "playing favorites" a conspiracy? I think it's pretty universally accepted that certain writers have people they prefer to write for & certain not so much & that's okay as long as situations don't become extreme. At any rate here is another way to look at Ron & his writing for his favorites. And, I am well aware of what a problem it is for writers to get what they pitch greenlit! I think being a soap HW is possibly one of the hardest things to do.

It's so lackadaisical that it could have been something exactly like that!!! I mean I have been critical of John's & Hope's & godawful Tony/Andre's retcons, but the people who wrote them had a plan in mind with a big picture & little rivulets & they obviously put work into trying to make them fit at the same time that they accomplished their current purpose. But, this one, it's so ... sloppy! I feel like down the road people may say this is when a retcon ate the first successful streaming soap.

I just realized that when Anna & Finn were together Violet was all up in their relationship too! She's just one of those kids who is way too interested in grown-up business!
