  1. It was my understanding that their being dubious was because in the final scene there are 3-4 other players, not because of the existence of the presumed original script. I mean, the original script is a part of the story of what happened that day. There's no "Aha" moment in the fact that the original script is different! I know what it feels like when fan memories are not believed & it is a wholly uncomfortable feeling. I found your relating of it to be compelling.
  2. Of course ABC tried to do a teen soap well before the 1980s & it was wall-to-wall pop music. It was a flop & that might have been because it was ahead of its time. I'm speaking of Never Too Young. Off the top of my head some performers were Paul Revere & the Raiders, the Ramsey Lewis Trio, Marvin Gaye, Johnny Rivers & I know there were more. I've only watched the premiere episode but I found it quite good. Dark Shadows took its timeslot as soon as it was canceled & proved a good time for teens to watch soaps. This was 1965.
  3. The writer was the HW, yeah, but for some reason I don't know who that was. Drawing a blank ...
  4. And, now, she said she did it because Sloan is a friend & then she goes on to say right now maybe her only friend. Good God, in what universe does being a friend require you to commit something as horrific as stealing a newborn?!!! So far, I just don't buy anything they've trotted out as Melinda rationales!
  5. Jill Farren Phelps second gig in soaps was as Music Producer at GH from 1977-1984 & when I think about couples special songs & musical montages, I think of her as starting that kind of production number. I think of it as a signature style of hers. You could look forward to it at the ends of shows. Her next gig was another job as Music Producer, at Santa Barbara, but she got promoted out of Music.
  6. Right. Nope. We've only seen Maggie with her subset of people. We've only seen Holly with her subset of people! The pod storytelling style that Lynn Liccardo spoke of in her book about the end of ATWT is alive & well in Salem! One thing that is going on that is right is individual performances. Ari is wonderful again today. Plus, both yesterday & today, Tamara Braun is putting on a Masterclass of her own. I know Ava is an unpopular character & I get why but the actress is just so talented that anytime they give her decent writing she hits a homerun. Just shows what a travesty it was when all they wrote was Ava making pasta for Rafe & making whoopie with Rafe!
  7. And, we don't know how it compares to their typical Dark Week schedule since not being in the studio is a primary way that both DAYS & GH save on their budgets.
  8. What's your plan about that little problem where he stepped out to mail a letter & was never again seen or heard from? I wonder if his daughter Donna knows. I think she lives in Genoa City!
  9. Not Abc-etc. nor CG, but EJ put it in the wall safe. Something was written on it when Nicole got it.
  10. Oh, thanks. Doing too many things at once. Now, here we go. Week of 7/31/23-8/4/23 DARK WEEK # 13 Week of 8/7/23-8/11/23 # 14757-14765 (airing 12/27/23-1/8/24)
  11. Thanks as always, @JAS0N47 ! Week of 8/4-8/8 # 12493-12500 (airing 12/26/14-1/7/15)
  12. I think fully half of the time online I find something when I am looking for something else. Many of those times are rabbit holes. So this morning I was looking for one thing & I found another, an interesting picture of Jacquie Courtney that I know I've never seen before. AW had Cass & Jake. GH had, I think, Jon Lindstrom & John J. York. I feel like I've seen John Callahan in drag. I know there are more. It was really a popular device. I'm not sure how serious most people took it. Stephen Schnetzer took it as part of his acting homework. He met with Dustin Hoffman's dresser for TOOTSIE & said that man taught him a bunch of tricks, like how to walk, to "caress the thighs", and SS then jumps up & illustrates the walk. It looks amazing with him in street clothes! If you can catch it, it's an entertaining part of an interview. He's talked about it several times. 🦃🥧🌽🍗
  13. I think that one thing we should all be able to agree upon is that RH was not well-served by the character Austin or the writing for it. Better could have been done.
  14. Just yesterday I learned of the app It's Really Good TV being something that I could get on my Roku that happens to carry RetroTV. So, for the first time since I was a teen, I watched a very wonderful half hour of THE DOCTORS. I can only express to you that it was thrilling. I was giddy afterward. Carolee, Steve, Nick, Carolee's estranged husband, ... I mean, it was just so good! That is all.
  15. Austin knew who was in that room. But, all we saw was a pair of black men's shoes as the shooter walked away. So we can eliminate women. Sorry John that lets out Betty. As a courtesy & not having anything to do with "Who Shot Austin?" we are now on Work Day 89 without a sighting of one Marcus Taggert, last seen sick, drunk & angry in an elevator. Where is the Taggert posse?
  16. @janea4old I wanted to ask you with your excellent grasp of the calendar, what show date corresponds to the monster co-EP's firing? Thanks.
  17. That belongs on a short list of real travesties that some writers have foisted upon the daytime scenes, just really awful.
  18. I happened to LIKE Mandy! I find that to be especially true in another NBC soap, DAYS, you know, they are just totally incredulous when someone comes back from the dead, even if they've previously had that same experience!!
  19. Wasn't that Michael Malone? Was it part of the 13 Bourbon St. bible? Hard to remember, tried to block it out, although Laura Moss was a real trooper!
  20. The wallet! Yes. Thanks. And, you're right, Doris!
  21. I thought they really missed the boat. They should have made him Alan's long lost unknown son & we should have had a magnificent Stuart Damon/Alan Q tribute as Monica introduced Alan's new son (proved by DNA) to his father through photo albums & stories.
  22. Uh, problem. Bunny Eberhardt was the name of the hit person that Marcia McCabe played. Was it a character name that did double duty? Maybe did Jake pick up the name from her? Just mentally stretching here ... I thought Jake's drag name was something else. Other Aliases: Jake Thomas McKinnon (full name). Bunny Eberhardt (alias). Doris Pepperdine (female identity. AKA Doris Schmedlap). (From Eddie's page) So, yes, double duty character name but Jake's drag name was Doris!
  23. Dee Evans Love it! Tony the Tony! Dadgummed typos finally one that is fun. And, her full name is Krystal with a K Lake.
  24. Well, I was hoping someone would find Austin's body on the floor today & they didn't go there. And, there was so much Finn. But, it was an excellent day for Kraze fans! Blaze was SO glad to see Kristina when she showed up at the studio. Carly is wise to try to pin Nina down on what she is up to.
