  1. Generally speaking I wonder if it was that different people were in control. So perhaps the people who were so intent on having Jensen really had no experience of Ellen. Or possibly of Anne either. Only of Jensen. But, that might not be it. We have no way of knowing. Ellen has always spoken so highly of Tom. I never thought about him blackballing her. I simply cannot say enough bad about Lumina. Victoria told me that they had told her that they were getting writers for the show who would bring romance. She was cautiously optimistic, but she clearly wanted it to be true. What they brought was Lumina. When I talked to Jean Passanante as I'm sure I already posted, all she said was that she & Leah had written it together & that it was strange. I'll say, strange is a great word for it. And I wish Goutman had done better than Carolyn the gorilla but at least it was an homage to a particular time on the show. IOW, what you said? Ditto to the whole thing!
  2. So today she said outright that she did it because it was so much money. Paying the doctor more has got to be cutting into what she was counting on.
  3. It is a great frustration to me that both times that JB was out on maternity leave & did not want to come back, Ellen Wheeler was available & willing & at the studio. IMO they should have snapped her up. But instead they wheedled & cajoled & gave perks because someone thought they just had to have Jensen. To me it was one of the incredibly stupid decisions they made in the latter years.
  4. If I have posted this before sorry to duplicate but I am not finding it. Set-up: Marley is on trial for shooting Jake, which she did not do, she has lied & said Jake did not rape her except to her attorney Cass. She was truthful to him, that Jake did rape her. Marley has fled. Vicky is impersonating Marley & finds out about the rape. As soon as there's a recess, Vicky who is furious, heads to the bathroom.
  5. Some years back they changed from the digest size to a magazine format. I think when they made the size change many people thought it had gone away completely. When they made the size change they also completely redid the organization & presentation.
  6. Back when we were actively campaigning to try to get the monster Albert Alarr fired Digest just kept tweeting their regular teases. It had already become glaring that only they were not covering the investigation in any form. Total news black-out from them - and only them - on the subject. So, their teases were met every tweet with sarcastic replies & digs about them not being on board with the fan campaign. I even sent msgs telling them to turn off their auto-posting & why. Nothing changed. I mean, you can't help someone who won't help themselves. And, the worst of it was how many were fluff teases.
  7. Yeah, well, I'll just have to be goofy today because I watched before I posted. My oops, I guess. Hmm, think I'll go see. Yeah, well, that is a great name! 🎶🎵📻🎧🎹🎼
  8. Did you see the movie where Charlize Theron played Ailene Wornos (spelling?). I believe it was called MONSTER.
  9. Yes, indeedy, if something has finally penetrated that narcissistic outer candy shell of Mr. Stark, then it is about dadgummed time something, anything, got through to him, I mean, if there is any inside to him at all! Today for once it seemed like he has a gooey center capable of something like guilt! Who knew?! I wonder. If the baby always cries & fusses with Sloan & is a total cheery calm with Eric, it could be like the beating of a telltale heart, working on Sloan's guilt! I'm not sure I know what this means. Yes, these remarkable individual performances continue. Hitting it out of the ballpark! Really hard to see Clyde as a mastermind, as an uber-villain, instead it seems as if he is a poor pitiful wimp of a character. The only thing I can think of is maybe he is someone who functions very well in prison & pretty awful on the outside? Ya think? Do not know what any spoilers say, not that I am that averse or anything, just haven't happened upon them. Today's final scene, broke my heart. I guess we will see Nicole see her baby often. Now, what I've been thinking about is Christopher Dunn, Jamey Giddens & Dave Ryan writing daily scripts. Seems to me like Dave Ryan is doing a lion's share. I think his day's are pretty good, sound. Not as sure of Jamey. Nor of Chris Dunn. But, I do think someone has some plan in mind with them doing this & I appreciate their effort. Especially with them down 8 writers & only up 2.
  10. Now, me, I loved Rose/Lily from the get-go & was only mad when they cut it short. The only thing about it that bugged me is this idea that this husband could have sex with the twin & not know it was her. That always bothers me. I just find it not at all credible. The late great AMC/OLTL crossover with baby swap, helicopter crash in the woods & 2 pregnant women giving birth under primitive circumstances when 2 babies were born but then suddenly there was only one. I began hating this because there was no way to keep up with it except to watch both shows. So for me, already busy with many soaps it meant I had to add OLTL. This really annoyed me!! But, it turned out to be SUCH a great story, told like it was a well-oiled machine.
  11. This is a great share, Paul!
  12. Okay, I see. Camp was not my intent in this instance.
  13. Sontag said, "You can't camp about something you don't take seriously. You're not making fun of it, you're making fun out of it."
  14. This is my opinion also. It always has been. There is an elevation when it comes to farce, satire, parody & the bottom line is its being played genuinely, authentically, even earnestly, and that is how you get the desired result, like camp. When you play to it & do not play it seriously, you get some pretty cheap claptrap.
  15. Good run-down of the missing parties. With that in mind, I will open my mind to see what tomorrow brings. Maybe tomorrow we could talk about what people think of the breakdown writers as daily script writers!
  16. And if indeed Black Patch is on a case that is not local on Thanksgiving - which seems ludicrous - then where was Kayla? Where was Marlena? I mean, really, friends don't let friends spend Thanksgiving alone.
  17. The other day I read a brand new article & then I looked at the drop down & the top three looked interesting so I clicked & each of them was in excess of 2 years old. I can't replicate that right now. And, I don't think only they do it. I just know I hate it.
  18. Sure, I would definitely add Roots & Holocaust. I know nothing about Malibu. I take it you don't consider Sho-Gun & Thornbirds? Here's an interesting list of the top 145 mini-series. Sho-Gun is their #10. Roots is their #7. Might be a strange list. https://www.ranker.com/list/miniseries-tv-shows-and-series/ranker-tv I don't know if you recall or not but I like to catch Bing Chat (AI) in errors. I asked it if Sho-Gun, The Thornbirds & Bare Essence would be considered among the best miniseries. Its reply And, for references it gave imdb & paste magazine's website & YouTube. YouTube? Paste has a list it calls The Best 1980s miniseries that changed television & it lists 3: Sho-Gun, The Thornbirds & Lace. https://www.pastemagazine.com/tv/list/best-famous-1980s-miniseries-shogun-the-thorn-birds-lace
  19. You've just described the difference between James Reilly's DOOL & Ron Carlivati's DOOL.
  20. I need to recommend a soap to you. It's called General Hospital & the writers Dan & Chris & their EP Frank think the way you do about relations between men & women. Cody Bell & Britt. Finn & Elizabeth.
  21. Hey, you! You forgot my lady! Julie was present & she deemed it Aw-kward! (And, she was right!) So disjointed! There is an echo in here! They should've could've done better! I did like Brady talking to Tate like a father. I did like Paulina & Chanel talking about the men in their lives. I did like Julie understanding the position she'd inadvertently put Stephanie & Chad in. Chad blurting out that he was firing Everett's ass ... gee, that was weird. Overall my word for the day is weird.
  22. We had pumpkin pie last night. Today we had roast turkey, baked ham, stuffing, candied yams, collard greens, mac 'n cheese casserole, cranberry sauce & sweet potato pie, Coke to drink. I have had a sufficiency.
  23. I get email blasts daily from SoapHub, from Digest, from the Google Alerts I have set & from Soaps in Depth. Today Soaps In Depth's news was this, Colleen going to Y&R, I just laughed that they would think it's news today.
  24. Exactly! We got the current version of the Robicheaux/Black/Evanses the other day for the anniversary including thoughtful gift Family Tree & it was John, Marlena, Brady, Eric, ... Do you think we are on an allowance & that is once a month, no more?! I guess so. No exceptions! Not even for a family holiday. I confess I do not like this. I know! I need to make a gratitude list for DAYS. This is going to be a challenge. You've given me the start. Grateful for a day without Leo, a day without FauxTheresa, cannot say a day without Gwen because she was in dialog, ... this is maybe a short list?
