I know you know that Schemering lists 3 DuMont shows as serials, early on, but they are all problems because they aren't daytime. Faraway Hill is Wed. nights 9-9:30 pm. A Woman to Remember started out on daytime, Monday, 2-21-49 but they moved to night as of May, so, only a bit more than 3 months during the day. The O'Neills were Tues nights 9-9:30 pm. They certainly exist as a footnote to early serials but don't fit into your daytime only scheme.

Funny that you should mention this. 1991 & 1992 are two years I specifically did a rewatch of. Yes, it turned out to be a kind of self-torture. Shane with Kayla, bad enough, Molly & Tanner, oh my, my poor show actually went there. And, Molly's mother secretly of course, was Ginger, oh, my some more. Thank god for Vern & Desiree. Also Deidre was robbed that year. She had the amazing story of a woman who loved 2 men - Roman, the real one, and John, but he was with a very pregnant IzzyB. Bo was with Carly although Lawrence didn't like it not one bit. The actress who played Gladys on GH 2 years ago was with Lawrence at that time.

There was also no official mention of any kind at all, much less a tribute video, of Another World that was going off the air after 35 years. But, when GH won Best Show Wendy Riche's first words were, "God bless all the good people out in Brooklyn finishing up today. Our hearts are with them." And, then she segued right into thanking people for GH's win. A class act.

And, we agree on some things, but not Emma & Joss, but so what, it's not like it's a problem and if I look on you may see things in a way I like in the near future. To me a female rivalry that was rooted in character history was Joss & Kristina. To me when they met whee it is gonna come down. I miss that. Also I have always valued friendship on soaps. Maxie and Felicia. Another Felicia, another city anothwer soap Felicia & Cass.

Yeah, I love to laugh, too, but, the misogyny on this show just doesn't cut it for me in terms of humor. Haven't you ever wondered why they seem intent on making people choose day in & day out between females? Carly & Robin. And, Robin hasn't even been on the show in years. Here, they've created a fictitious war between Joss & Emma, when many of us wish that they would instead make them partners, not competitors. (Not to mention they've got Emma making googoo eyes at a man almost old enough to be her father.) They just seem intent on creating enmity against some females, whether there's anything organic in these supposed variances or not. Good grief, Soap Twitter poses Carly vs. Sam all the damned time & Sam is very dead. Has been since Halloween.

MLH, yes, agree about Harley & Nadine representing the best the Coopers offered us. And, we stand in solidarity with our bitterness over the treatment Zas received at P&G/CBS. And, about the much better treatment at OLTL I would add another name to shout out & she is Brynn Thayer. I understand she was also one who supported him to ABC/Disney. So god bless her along with Robin Strasser. Yes, they were kind but also they offered respect & dignity which he deserved.

About the timing (Faulkner's post) I don't know whether I'm confused or whether there's something wrong. About the categories, it's been drummed into my head that it's not the story it's the role. Also not unclear. If you are supporting & for a time you are in a big story even if you are carrying the show for that time, you are still a supporting character. But, anyway, that milk is spilt & there's no undoing it.

Since John is absolutely, positively NOT Roman, that would be not only ridiculous but absurd. John was NEVER Roman. And, with Josh Taylor, Roman isn't even Roman. And, since Wayne died, DAYS is effectively Roman-less & that is a permanent state. I fail to see how any drama could be wrung out of a new lie. IOW, IMO we should leave Roman the hell alone. I would personally love it if we could honor Wayne but I do not see any way that could happen.
