  1. Season six is currently airing on Pluto TV's 90210 channel. I completely dropped the show when it originally aired but its much easier to digest as background noise Kyle and Peter are the WORST They ruined Amanda chaining her to these low lifes. Jake could be an abusive ass but he benefited from a nicely detailed backstory and Grant Show always had charm and good chemistry with his leading ladies so you could buy them putting up with his crap. Kyle and Peter are just gross overbearing manipulative assholes. I don't care about Kyle being a vet, he's a perpetual loser and hot head for no real reason. Peter is just a complete sleaze and gross enabler. HATE them both I'll post more thoughts later when the season finishes
  2. I believe Sony only gives them streaming rights for the most recently aired season
  3. Oh wow I appreciate that, thank you!
  4. They always take down episodes around this time of year since technically a new season starts. Last year I was gonna catch up on the last bit of Gina T's run and the resolution of the JT Big Little Lies rip off but they snatched all the episodes before I could finish
  5. Katie always felt like a forced character for me because of her botched and non-existent backstory with her legacy parents. She would have been a stronger character with that
  6. Nancy St Alban was the worst Michelle, blech. Love seeing Paul and Laura together I went through a GL YouTube binge and I forgot Lucy Cooper was ever a thing.
  7. MAB era was such trash, my goodness. I remember all the soaps being so at this point but I couldn't even stomach her stuff. In hindsight I get that she was going for the 80s slight psycho thriller feel but everything about her execution was putrid. She filled the show with bad stunt casting and wrecked so many long term roles with bad stories. For me this era is the worst of the worst. Daisy 🤢 Destruction of Jana 🤢 Sharon stuck to pervert Adam like a battered woman 🤢 Badly SORASed legacy characters 🤢 I do miss the production value of the sets though. JFP is the one who hacked that down.
  8. Nick and Sharon were completely played out by the early 00s, that's why they felt the need to kill Cassie when they did and why whenever they get paired back up now its never long term. JM and SC have amazing chemistry but the writing has always made it hard to root for them IMO
  9. That era with Gwen, Will and them as the young set was my favorite. I loved it all so this reunion was nice to see. I loved Jennifer Ferrin too one of the few genuinely great young leads from that time
  10. I was finally home to catch a classic and its a MAB era 😬 No other writer drove me away like her tenure
  11. I didn't detect any real shade from the Kim Zimmer mention, Laura and Kim got along well and she has openly admired and admitted to borrowing a lot of her acting style.
  12. I'm mad this still isn't on a streaming site
  13. Wow at her knowing the whole time they filmed this project. Damn this sucks
  14. Enjoyed reading your thoughts @Brolden you are making me want to give the show another rewatch Jo and Billy had an interesting dynamic season 1, I remember she used to call him Bill all the time. Definitely would've been an interesting pairing Darren Star said on the DVD's that they got rid of Sandy because it was annoying having to write a character in show business. I liked her once they killed the accent, the episode where she gets a stalker and the one where she got a part in a movie and forced to take her top off are two of my favorites from season 1. I'm in the group who always liked the young adult moral of the week 90210 format of that season. Like @te. pointed out once Darren leaves they lose that element of morality and realism and its when the show ventures too far into nonsense camp. Still watchable but not as interesting, especially with the cast departures happening soon after. In theory this should have been a much easier show to keep going with cast shifting but the newer character were never developed well they just got launched into stupid stories to fill the void of the ones they were replacing. Sam, who is probably my least favorite character of all time was the last one to really get properly folded into the show dynamics but she sucked lol, just awful and such a blatant replacement for Jo. Allison and Billy are also my favorite couple in the show and I still feel robbed we didn't see them end together. The episode where they first have sex is another all time favorite and the triangle dynamic with Amanda I think is one of the shows best. Doug Savant and the show don't get enough credit for Matt being one of the first gay characters you saw prominently on a show. Aw man I LOVE Michael Mancini lol both the nice guy and sleaze ball he turned into. Jane is another favorite but they went too far into not wanting her to be written as a victim.
  15. Tonight's episode has been hilarious so far. Shannen was definitely the missing piece of the puzzle and I'm loving them trying to figure out who the stalker is.
  16. Yikes at the ratings drop, I think they probably should have released all of the episodes at once so people could binge. I see someone leaked their salaries to The Hollywood Reporter too . Only way I see this getting more episodes is if it sells well internationally off name recognition like all the other CBS produced brand reboots. Ian did an interview saying they wanted 13 episodes and for the last one to be the actual 90210 reboot episode they spend all season making but the network only ordered six. Hopefully the finale is still that. I did like the second episode and the soapiness of the potential stalker, setting Christine Elise up as the villain, Jason's wife pregnant by the head writer, and the Jason Jennie angst. Hopefully Shannen is in more of the epsiodes because we don't get nearly enough and I find the take on her character to be the most interesting next to Gabrielle (which has shocked the hell out of me because I only ever liked Andrea in season 1, Clare >>>>>>). I get Tori came up with the concept but she has way too much airtime for me. Her face comedy is only tolerable in small doses. As for the CW reboot discussion, I actually liked the 90210 one best once they got rid of the OGs. They were never utilized properly and once they realized Naomi and Adrianna were the real stars, threw Shenae Grimes to the bushes and got a solid group dynamic I think the show found its footing nicely. I stopped paying attention when they went to college though. Melrose Place was a fail from the start, I don't know why they let those idiots from Smallville get their hands on it but they were horrible writers who admitted they never got the original. Katie Cassidy literally carried that whole thing on her back I'm sad she got forever stuck on The CW. They should have fired the writers when they initially wanted too instead of letting them try to reboot during the last half of the season 1 order, probably would have gotten the five seasons they wanted.
  17. I kind of enjoyed it but I still agree this is such a waste of a great opportunity. Like @Chris B said shows like Big Little Lies are huge right now, people like seeing adult, sharp written soaps this could have been an easy win for everyone. They could have done all the things they're attempting to do here with an actual reboot. Tackle aging in Beverly Hills, bad finances, mid life crisis, death of friends, etc and people would have ate it the hell up. CBS just has never understood how to properly utilize this franchise. I expect the show will have this one season and be done. I want Heather Locklear to get herself together and for Darren Star and the peak Melrose Place cast to give us the 90s reboot we deserve because I know they'd all actually be down to do it the right way.
  18. This is epic to see, glad they used the best version of the theme song too and not the cheap version they've been playing in the ads
  19. People will tune in for the first episode and leave once they realize its not an actual reboot. Since they're losing writers and the first script still hasn't even been finished yet I would just retool it into a proper revival before its too late. Open it with Dylan dying and the gang getting back together for the funeral. This thing literally writes itself so I'm not sure why they are even wasting time with this lame concept.
  20. I hate that they always use that cheap sounding version of the theme song now. Again this is a waste. They could do the actual show and pull some viewers in. I'm not trying to watch the real life comedy bits unless it was an actual messy real life behind the scenes look. Based on all the press they still don't have a full script ready, fingers crossed for a last minute change
  21. Love that promo but this is such a waste of a potentially rectifying reboot. Why can't CBS just call Darren Star and Charles Rosin and give us the revival we actually want to see?
  22. Yeah I believe JFP and co legitimately thought Jennifer Bransford was going to work. I could kind of see where they were going with her because she had that nasty white trash vibe that SJB could bring, except she had none of the sex appeal and was so hard looking. I remember the ruthless ways she would get dogged daily on SOC The mistake was thinking that since Carly was already being made less important in favor of Reese's Pieces, they could just repeat the way SJB's leaving was handled and throw in any random chick who looked similar enough and keep moving with the Michael's death/kidnapping story. They needed to get someone with experience to carry all that and JB just didn't have it. She played the hell out of the breakdown though. I remember SOD reporting her and her husband had just bought a new house and then ended up having a miscarriage right around the time she got canned so that always made me feel bad for her. As for being a placeholder for Laura Wright, Laura wasn't even on their radar until her agent called Frons to tell him she was about to renew her contract with GL. Her getting offered Carly was very last minute
  23. Sunny Hostin earned her keep today with the Bill Cosby analysis, ABC should lock her and Sarah Haines in ASAP. Michelle is obviously toast at this point.
  24. Candace is a major flop and today's episode showed exactly why. She couldn't even defend her views on Evolution vs Creationism. Have the opinion you have but at least be able to articulate why you feel the way you feel. She's an ignorant one trick pony, they need to just go ahead and part ways. Paula actually makes for a better uber Christian conservative because she can at least hold her own and doesn't come across as a complete idiot.
  25. They've been having goes at Paula too, I actually feel kind of bad for her because on one episode Raven called her sneaky and then got really rude during an after show. She should be really worried about Sarah Haines popping up so much, she fits in much better, just like she did during the final few episodes of last season and I don't think its a coincidence they keep bringing her back.
