  1. Just based on what has been said in the conversation, I wonder if AW was going to do a variation on the ATWT story where David Stewart left Oakdale and suffered from temporary amnesia and adopted the name Donald Saunders. David as Donald got involved with the widowed Cynthia Haynes, who was played by Linda Dano, and adopted as his own, Cynthia's unruly and conniving teenage daughter, Karen Haynes. Could Timmins have been the daughter part? Off the top of my head Mac suffers temporary amnesia winds up in Somerset and adopts his John Caldwell persona again. In Somerset, he becomes involved with Pammy Davis and her unruly daughter played by Timmins. Meanwhile, everyone in Bay City thinks Mac is missing or presumed dead.
  2. We may never know, but it would be awesome to find out the original storyline they had planned. Somehow Iris’ redemption figured into the storyline.
  3. This is definitely strange- unless they are trying to get summer viewers (teens) to invest into the show more or they are doing it as a money saving move. The Friday, June 27th, episode better end with a good cliffhanger to get viewers to return on Monday, July 7th.
  4. Did I miss something- Did Bill’s cane suddenly disappear like he doesn’t need it anymore? I’m confused lol
  5. I think that was more of an NBC decision in wanting to promote DAYS and not AW. NBC wanted AW off the air at that time, so they hoped that viewers would ignore cities where the shows were produced.
  6. If TPTB are smart, the Martin incident storyline will reach its peak during the Articulettes reunion concert tying all the storylines together into one big umbrella story.
  7. Just a prediction …. Smitty is going to discover that all the money that Marcel Malone accumulated did not come from Joey Armstrong, but it was a payoff from Vernon Dupree so Malone would keep his silence on the what happened the night of Martin’s incident.
  8. Marcel was probably the police officer on duty the night that Martin’s “flashback” happened. This is why Martin doesn’t want Smitty doing the article on him.
  9. By next week most schools are out for Summer. This guest house will probably be the younger crowd’s hangout for the summer. I’m sure the guest house will have a swimming pool or we will see the pool at the country club shortly.
  10. 🙏🏼RIP Chris Robinson- his Jason Frame was one of AW’s better villains. Jason’s murder mystery was one of AW’s best- practically the entire cast was a suspect!

  12. When they set the black and white picture of The Articulettes on the coffee table, I wonder if we will see flashbacks of Anita, Tracy, Sharon, and Barbara when they were younger in Chicago.
  13. 1985 was a rough year for the show. Paul Rauch had a disastrous end to his 12 year run as executive producer in early 1983. Allan Potter, AWs original executive producer, returned to the show in 1983 and stayed until the end of 1984. He truly turned the show around quickly. He made the show watchable and entertaining again. When Potter’s retirement was announced P&G was going to transfer Mary Ellis Bunim from ATWT to AW. Instead, she went to Santa Barbara to work with the Dobsons again. This was when Schenkel was hired and made one bad choice after another.
  14. In 1986, the writers had Zane shot twice in March and August when he died. It’s like they didn’t know what to do with the character after they married him to Felicia.
  15. Schenkel was indeed a disaster. During 1985, the following characters exited the show: Brian Bancroft, Sandy Cory, Blaine Ewing Cory, Jamie Frame, the first Peter Love, Alice Matthews Frame, Ben McKinnon, Vince McKinnon, Mark Singleton, Perry Hutchins, Grant Todd, and Tony the Tuna. The following characters were introduced and quickly disappeared Chris Chapin, Neal Cory, Dee Evans, Daniel Gabriel, Michaud Christophe, Edward Gerard, Daphne Grimaldi, Zane Lindquist, and Brittany Peterson. The only successful characters Schenkel introduced were Bridget Connell, Vicky Hudson, and Jake McKinnon. Schenkel recasted the popular Sally Frame with Taylor Miller when Mary Page Keller left AW. Also, he recasted Peter Love twice in 1985 with Christopher Holder and Marcus Smythe. Schenkel brought back Carl Hutchins for the Egyptian/Arizona treasure story with the poisonous dust.
  16. What is Anita’s secret that’s something never seen in daytime TV? 🧐
  17. And that area of the DMV has a high-end glamorous casino the MGM National Harbor.
  18. Ashley and Derek have to go- they really throw off the pace of the show. Today was the first time I fast-forwarded through their scenes. The writing and acting is just bad for both characters.
  19. NBC or P&G was even fool enough to take a full page ad for two consecutive weeks in TV Guide promoting this horrible storyline.
  20. This is 100% correct. It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe. The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date. Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona. It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.
  21. How long before we see Tracy and Sharon the other Articulettes?
  22. You are correct. It would have been interesting to see his version of the Jason Frame murder and courtroom fallout, the 25th Anniversary celebration, and Mac’s death.
  23. Without a doubt, that poisonous dust in that Egyptian urn that Nancy gave to Mac and Rachel for Christmas. Both of them in the hospital at the same time in early 1986 because they both inhaled the dust.
  24. AW was really good with the umbrella story of Who Killed Jason Frame story that involved all of the characters on the show. I assume this was a Lemay story that Swajeski followed. The first hiccup Swajeski had was Douglass Watson’s sudden death. The Red Swan was probably her first original storyline and was all over the place. I wish someone had a copy of Lemay’s bible from 1988. It would definitely be an interesting read to see how Iris would have been redeemed.
  25. The biggest blunder TPTB at AW ever made was killing Sally in 1986. After Taylor Miller, Sally should have left town and they rested the character for awhile. Then, had her return to Bay City with a different actress. Killing Sally marginalized Aunt Liz and gave no reason for Alice to ever return to the show. Sally could have driven story until the show went off the air in 1999.
