I'm still resisting TikTok but this is quite fun. Just how did they do the voices?!

This is Cool!
OMG! That was a wonderful treat. Yet another reminder of the power of Y&R's classic music and it's awful, heartbreaking absence from today's shows. God how I wish they'd release all these cues.

Sigh. What a treat to watch the real Y&R back on screen. A few minutes missing, of course, but what can you expect? The most bizarre edit was when they played the credits before the first Jill/Rex scene (which was obviously the lead into the credits) but then combined it with the Jill/Rex scene right after the credits. Like, why? Someone help me understand! That's not just cutting for time, that's re-editing the actual content! I was hoping they wouldn't remove whole scenes once I saw they just cut one of the Brad/Ashley ones short. That might be the way to go: Show all the scenes but trim some of them here and there and therefore nothing gets left out.
St. John was so beautiful and sexy. Once Shemar came on the show, he always took second place and we didn't often enjoy that body. Always great to see Rowell. She will always be missed.
Episodes like these subtly show Braeden's range as an actor. You just do not see this kind of emotion from him anymore. Funny how so far, CBS has rerun two episodes about Eve Howard.
John finding out about Jill's pregnancy is classic soap drama.
If this episode is put on YouTube (esp. in good quality) please someone let us know!

What's the story behind Heather Tom leaving YR? Was she fired or did she want to go to BB?
Y&R wanted to cut down her episode guarantees/money and she walked.

I like Amelia better as Victoria. I couldn't stand Heather Tom

Honestly, it would never happen, but I'd be fine if they picked a starting point in the 80s or 90s and just played episodes in order. 20, 30, 40, however many it ended up being. The only way to really experience Y&R and delve into it due to its measured, long-term storytelling.

I was quite enjoying the episode (Adam taking down the portrait but still unable to take his eyes off it a nice touch) but now they've cut into it.

Gosh, I kept imagining Heather Tom in her place and wanting to cry.

Even when soaps are at their lowest, they are still capable of finding a way to provide comfort during hard times like these.

Always nice to see that classic but surely there were other good options that haven't been re-run (relatively) recently. Like, about 7000 of them....

That's great. Hopefully they'll work their way back even more when done with Season 18!

Heard back from the website. They're working on it; I think it was cute how they used medical terminology. Hopefully it'll be up and running soon.

Considering it's the CW, tokenism is the likely outlet. At least Berlanti isn't tied to this...
Agreed. I'm hoping we are proven wrong this time...

They've cast Keegan Allen as Walker's gay brother, which pleasantly surprised me. I like the description of their family backstory/dynamic and hope they use it a lot instead of making him a background character.

IDK what Jack Smith had hoped to accomplish by making Y&R's Jill and Kay mother and daughter. (It WAS Jack Smith's idea, right?
Yes, Jack Smith. Honestly, I think they wanted to neutralize the Kay/Jill feud. They never would've done so themselves, so making them mother/daughter would eventually lead to a truce, a joining at the hip, and languishing. Which is exactly what happened.

Also- if they had invested in Mac and Billy, they had the fuel for another 20 years of stories for Jill and Katherine. There was no need to tie them together as mother and lost daughter (and ultimately dismantle them again). Just like young Phillip had reignited them for years, leading through him, Nina, and his death and them fighting with Nina for his son’s inheritance. That was close to 10 years of story. It was already set up for a third generation.
Exactly! Especially a Billy and Mac BABY would've kept them going for another 10 years with good writing. But, again, they wanted it done.

You can start watching episodes now! I guess the Feb. 27th date is for all the interactive stuff. How thrilling to have a soap streaming like this and 2.99 a month is very reasonable!

I'm really excited to listen to Black Diamond (great title). Hope it's a good album. She said it'll be out before her tour ends, so it seems sometime between now and August!

Are you saying it's a problem that Tricia became psychotic? Because she was uber boring before that and super interesting after it....
Why was it insulting? She was psychotic and therefore committed psychotic acts. I'd understand if she was portrayed as sane....
