Knots Landing
Abby *sort of* tried to push him towards being a better and more successful person. Then he went and screwed it up - as usual. But their relationship is like the Amanda / Jake relationship on Melrose Place - why would such a smart person go after a loser?

Gary is an awful person if we're being honest. Why do people want him to be with, well, ANYONE? He deserved to drive off that cliff instead of Sid.

Knots Landing
What on earth was the point of Kenny and Ginger anyway? Four seasons and 75 episodes - yet they made zero impact. "Night" really defines them - they go away in the beginning of the episode, then Richard takes Laura hostage and everyone on the street is fretting, it gets resolved, then seemingly Ginger and Kenny returns oblivious to what went down.

Dynasty Discussion Thread
I couldn't stand Dex, especially when he was in G.I. Dex mode. I was glad that he "didn't fare well" after the balcony fall. Possibly the only thing I liked about the dreadful reunion.

Central Park West Discussion Thread
It was pretty obvious that CBS did a desperate retooling of the show - apparently Darren Star more or less admitted that he had the rug pulled from under his feet and basically had no control over those last eight episodes where Camille Marchetta took over and turned it into Dynasty. They more or less wrote out several of the younger cast members - Stephanie (though Mariel used her exit option she had with the 13th episode), Peter, Alex (dead), Mark (dead) and even poor Nikki's resolution to her own storyline was cut out of the 14th episode in the US airings (I believe they cut in some Alex / Peter / Robin scenes instead) and she pretty much made a random appearance to have drinks with Carrie and that was it. She was most likely done too. They had already commited to 22 episodes of CPW before it even aired as a way of enticing Darren to leave Fox - though they only produced 21 episodes; I assume one was cut to fund the revamp. Too bad it didn't work out and didn't get to see what Darren had planned originally (apparently the divorce trial between Allen / Linda was going to be a huge spectacle and not the wet fart it ended up being)

Melrose Place
Charles Pratt was there from the start iirc. He didn't properly become executive producer until season seven, but it's pretty obvious that from season four and onwards he and Frank South pretty much ran the show. He'd often appear in soap mags during that era and talk about the latest revamp and mission to "Save Melrose Place"... Tellingly, he was absent during the third season when he was busy with Models Inc which is regarded as the best MP season by many. Go figure...

Twin Peaks
I guess the sequence with the woman, the giant and glowing Laura ball is supposed to be the infamous "White Lodge" sending good Laura to counter evil Bob and the Black Lodge? The original FWWM script was apparently supposed to be set in the 50s and explain (well, in Lynchian terms) how the Black Lodge came to be - I guess with a huge nuclear explosion!

Twin Peaks
I'm actually watching The Missing Pieces right now and it's essential Twin Peaks viewing and not just random scenes. First of all - Cooper know Diane in person. He talks to her in a doorway, though she is unseen. Secondly, Moira Kelly is so underrated in the Twin Peaks universe. She should've returned for... uhm, The Return as she's such a big part of Laura's life. "It's happening again" - cries Sarah Palmer in The Missing Pieces.

Melrose Place
^ I guess that's a promo for the Jane leaves episode. I guess everyone was thinking Kimberly was finally dying, so it was right.

Dynasty: Discussion Thread
Fallon had ambition (more so than Steven) but as she says in the pilot "No blacks, no jews, no eskimos and no women". Originally, it was implied she was more like Blake and had ambition and I'm sure if they had followed the original character projections for season one she would've stepped up at some point.

Actually, that's a throwback to the original pilot - Fallon grabs the cake topper there and bites the head off. No one knows it was her in the original pilot.

This Is Us: Discussion Thread
I think they were seeing the weakened ratings for Scandal and decided it was time to move in on the time slot. Also, I believe it'll only have 18 episode seasons, so this way they can drag their seasons out until May I guess. I personally wouldn't have moved it, but meh...
