  1. I never cared for the character of Roger. I liked Jillian, and I loved Faith. I hated the actor who played their father.
  2. I know that she played a character on One Life to Live prior to her performances as Victoria. The first time that I ever remember seeing her is her role on Lovers and Friends as Amy Gifford. However, she appeared as the same character on Lovers and Friends, Another World, and For Richer and Poorer. I imagine that she was under contract to Procter and Gamble, so I suspect that she played the first of her three roles on One Life to Live before she was on Lovers and Friends.
  3. Joanne Dorian later returned to One Life to Live as a voice-over, I think in an airport scene.
  4. Lindsey was first seen as the new wife of Clint Buchanan. Kevin Stapleton was not poplar with me. I hated him as Kevin!
  5. The character played by Lisa Eichorn was named Elizabeth Carlisle. The character of Julie disappeared, I think, because Lauren Holly (the second actress to play the role) wanted to leave the show. Julie had very little to do during the last months (probably in anticipation of the end of her contract) except bond with her grandfather, Eric Kane (played by Albert Stratton). Another character who was written off and never returned was Bonnie McFadden. She had become a child actress at the time she was written off. She was very good friends with Stuart Chandler. 6. The character that Lisa Eichorn played was named Elizabeth Carlisle. I think that Julie disappeared because the actress who played Julie #2, Lauren Holly, wanted to leave the show. Julie had very little to do during the last few months (I guess in anticipation of the end of her contract) except bond with her grandfather, Eric Kane, played by Albert Stratton. Another character who disappeared and was not brought back was Bonnie McFadden. She became a child actress when she was written off.
  7. Headwriter of Love Is a Many Splendored Thing, Ann Marcus, passed away on Wednesday.
  8. I was watching All My Children very heavily at that point in the show when Edna and Hank met. Palmer had thrown the huge ball, and Edna had not been invited. She was drinking at the bar when Hank struck up a conversation. I only remember one actor as playing Hank. However, I could have missed an episode.
  9. I read that a quotation from Dorothy Lyman that she was never invited back to play Opal and that the show's decision to recast the role was not known to her. She also said that she had no idea why she was not considered for the role when it returned to the show.
  10. Slick, Hank Ferguson on All My Children was played by Jay Devlin. Mr. Devlin had previously played a role on Ryan's Hope as one of the men who was Jack's friend and also was always seen at Jumbo's.
  11. Rick Edlestein was not only credited as the story editor of The Doctors, but he also directed several episodes. I understand that he is to be the co-headwriter with Rita Lakin until Margaret DePriest (Mrs. Burger) becomes the headwriter. He had previously been the producer of The Edge of Night. I don't know if it were he or someone else who hired Margaret DePriest as an actress (Abby #1) and later hired her as a writer. I also do not know for sure if her being one of the writers of The Edge of Night is the reason that she left the cast. Mr. Edlestein was later the executive producer of How to Survive a Marriage.
  12. I wonder if Robert W. Colbert had composed the music for the show since it began in 1963?
  13. No. For many years, I thought that the only one on which he had appeared was The Secret Storm. Later, I learned that he was also on The Doctors.
  14. At one point, Dr. Dorian Lord decided that she was the right woman for Asa. At another point, she slept with Clint.
  15. For many years, I had thought that this show was created by Don Ettinger. Today, I have read that Raphael Hayes and Joseph Hardy were the show's creators.
  16. Terry Kiser must have just left The Secret Storm when this list was compiled. I know that the character that he played and the character played by Judi Rolin were on at the same time. I thought that the two ran off the show together. So, I suspect that Ms. Rolin's name was left on and that this was shortly after she had left.
  17. I was thinking that Lisa and Alex were sisters. Lisa, though, may have been a ward of Alex's. I do know that they lived together. This was when Bo and Cassie were engaged, but Alex wanted him.
  18. Lisa was the sister of Alex Olanof. She dated Kevin.
  19. The actor whose voice was heard as the television commentator was Mel Boudrot. He later appeared on All My Children as Tom's friend Father Tierney.
  20. The actress who is playing Polly Meriweather has reminded me, particularly with her voice, of Sallie Gracie ever since I started watching these reruns. I wonder if Sallie Gracie auditioned for the role of Polly, and the show decided to cast her as Martha instead. Sallie Gracie had completed a role on The Nurses on ABC since that show had been cancelled.
  21. I thought that it was terrible when Kelly and Lincoln were dropped from the show. It was said that there was nothing in the writers' minds for them to do, but I think that there were many ways that these characters could have been used.
  22. I recall that it was revealed in the storyline that Jason Webb was unable to read. Wanda was having a medical attack, and she directed Jason to give her the medicine in the bottle. He did not know how much to give her and, not being able to read the directions, gave her the wrong amount. She nearly died, and his secret was exposed. There was also a character on Loving who was shown to be unable to read (Lottie).
  23. I don't think that the actor who was playing Phil (Nicholas Benedict) wished to leave the show. I seem to recall that he was written out. Phil's body was lost at sea, so it would have been possible over the years to have brought him back. If it was to be done by the show, that probably would have been when Tara married Jim Jefferson. I do not believe that Nick Davis had left town at the time of Phil's death. He remained on the show for a longer period than that. Tara and Erica had many scenes together. Erica treated (or mistreated) Tara as a new girl in town who was not very high on the social register, as a plain Jane or Pollyanna. She felt that Phil had a right to know his about his parentage, and Erica was the one who told him. And, of course, after Erica and Jeff were married, Erica and Tara were sisters-in-law.
